i'm considering buying a new computer and wanted some advice on my spec because it's been ages since i've bought a computer and i'm well out of the technology loop! i hope somebody is willing to help me here because i'm really keen to get into civ IV (my current computer is just about sufficient for civ III!). the spec i'm considering is:
AMD Athalon 64 X2 4200+
Windows Media Centre Edition
1 GB DDR Memory
200 GB Serial ATA Hard Drive
512Mb ATI Radeon X1600 Pro
19" Viewsonic VA-1912 widescreen display
Sony 16x dual layer DVD writer
7.1 Channel Surround Sound Audio
Logitech S200 2.1 Surround Sound Speakers
Logitech Cordless Keyboard and optical mouse
£980 inc VAT delivered.
i've done a little research and i'm confident that the system should run civ IV well but i can't find any information on whether windows media centre edition is compatible (which i guess doesn't bode well). can anybody help? any advice on any part of the system is welcome! including the price!
