[WIP] 3rd Unique Component Project

I vvery much appreciate gthe work that has been done on this mod. It makes each civ more unique.

I have been getting CTDs wih the English Redcoat mod. They happen when I try to upgrade a Musketman to the Redcost.

I will activate logging and post them.
 
Yes. Something that replaces the pasture. The Huns kept herds of cattle, horses, goats and sheep. (although goats aren't in CiV but can be represented by sheep). As for Songhai, I have no clue. Maybe mud houses, idk.

As soon as I have some time I'll work on it

For the songhai i see a couple possible options
first a caravan or caravansary. -trade was central to their economy, maybe it gives extra gold
or
a constabulary replacement that provides faith to reflect their legal system based on islamic law

If I may make a suggestion, the Uhlan puts a second Polish UU immediately after its existing one. I would instead suggestion the Podhale Rifles, or Strzelcy Podhalańscy. It could replace the Great War Infantry, a unit with few other replacement.

They were essentially mountain troops, which could provide for some interesting possibilities, like being able to pass over mountains.

I gotta say, I don't much care for the Streltzy. Probably has to do with the fact that I am rather familiar with Peter the Great, and they were basically dismantled for being backwards, rebellious, and ineffective in combat (look up the Battle of Narva).

For Sweden, have you considered the Vallonsmedja? The iron from Sweden, particularly during the 1600's leading up to the industrial revolution, was instrumental in steel production owing to its exceptional quality. Britain purchased a particularly large bulk of its raw iron from Sweden.
 
Conquest of the new world deluxe just came out and has a tipi. I don't know if you are still doing this mod. But bringing that over to the base game would be a 3rd unique right there for the shoshone.

The Tipi was going to be the 3rd unique, Firaxis just made it easy :)
 
Finished adding the Tipi and the Sofa (Songhai unique unit, from Tomathek's Mali - some adjustments will be made, while in Mali the Sofa were of higher importance, in Songhai they merely inspired the use of javalines in regular infantry, this if I'm right xD )

I'm also looking for anyone interested in helping out with the project, to see if I could speed it up
 
Thanks for this mod man, I think its the best one out here. Really looking for the next update :) Checking the foorum everyday. I wish i could help in some way, but im not an artist and i cant make mods :/ but if there is every something easy you need help with :3

One question - could you release the alternate version which does not add 3rd component but rather replaces weaker original one? ;)

By the way, Netherland UB is partially rip off from Arabian one, also Korean university is just weaker Wat ;/

Also... You write that new Roman UB is Basilica, but I see "Forum" in mods folder??

Later today I'll upload a newer version with Shoshone and Songhai, also I've fixed the bug in the Redcoat add-on, that will also be uploaded.
You can help by simply playing with this mod, if you find any bug or have suggestion feel free to point them out ;)

A full revision is mean't to happen.
First and second post of this thread aren't updated.
So for Rome, Forum is the working one, the Basilica will be add as an alternative package along with the Rathaus for Germany and a new building for all civilizations (except Rome and Germany)
 
@Mrc - there is chance for Polish Uhlan's model and icon, although currently I am not 100% sure ;)

I will look if I can help with other icons (I know nothing about 3d models :d)

By the way, why aren't you going to use Indian Infantry from Ethnic Units as Sepoy model? And there is not a single ethnic European chariot as Carpentom model? :(

Also, today I learned how to create building icons for Civ5 - what do you think about this Riad icon? :)

I can edit that - just give me hints what to correct and which tools should I use ;) I have chosen this depiction of Riad (A riad (Arabic: رياض) is a traditional Moroccan house or palace with an interior garden or courtyard.) because it fits Moroccan colour scheme, is nice, depicts water and a plant, doesn't look very modern and suits Civ5 not very bad.
If you appreciate that - I can create icons for other missing stuff, this is fun :)

(how to create Civ5 style sunburst? although it probably wouldn't fit here)

There was some discussion about Uhlan should be or should not be Polish third unique, I'll have to see, but if you manage to get me those that would be great

The Indian Infantry doesn't suit well for the Sepoy, and for the Carpentom I believe I've that fixed (I had a lot of notes about the project but can't seem to find them :/ )

It looks good but also too modern not exactly what the Riad is supposed to be.
But keep trying, I can see how they fit in-game.
The sunburst effect is not entirely necessary. There are some tutorials about that

I must say this is much easier than I thought - also I need little work and I found making icons very satisfying, so I'll try my best with as many icons as it's possible ;)

Churches of Lalibela - do you think we could simply use (copyrights!) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=112438693&searchtext=lalibela? :p

Do you know how to mod lua/have you problems with something (unfortunately I cannot handle lua, not yet :p just interested about progress ;) )?
