Hi! I'm senshidenshi, and I'm working on some new civs, i.e. what ever civ I feel like/want in the game! Just a quick tip, I haven't completely fleshed out all of the civs, but I definitely have the ideas! Also, some of these civs have been made by other, more competent, modders already, but I'm going to give my own quirky spin to them! (BTW, I had no idea that people had made some of these civs when I planned it...)

Here are my current plans:
Working on currently:
Spoiler :
Duchy of Normandy:
Spoiler :
Leader: William II
Capital: Rouen
UT: Domesday Book - Courthouse maintenance is halved. +1 Spy.
UU: Milite - Slightly stronger than the Knight, which it replaces. It also does not gain a combat penalty for attacking over rivers, and does not have a combat penalty against cities. It does, however, take substantially more production than the Knight.
UB: Motte-and-Bailey - Recieves +1 food and 2 CS more than the Castle, which it replaces.

Coming soon (incomplete):
Spoiler :
Duchy of Burgundy:
Spoiler :
Leader: Charles the Bold
Capital: Dijon

The Franks:
Spoiler :
Leader: Clovis
Capital: Tournai

The Boers:
Spoiler :
Leader: Louis Botha
Capital: Pretoria
UT: The Great Trek - Receive a free Settler when your Capital is captured. For five turns after a city of yours is captured, all units receive a movement boost and ignore terrain costs. Cities given away in a trade deal do not count.
UU: Boer Commando - Replaces Cavalry. +1 Movement Point. Withdraws before melee attacks.
UU2: Recce - Replaces Great War Infantry. No terrain costs when moving through jungle tiles. Recieves a combat bonus on rough terrain.

The Kingdom of Aragon:
Spoiler :
Leader: Alfonso II
Capital: Zaragoza
UT: Consulate of the Sea - +2 Movement for all naval units. Pay only one-third the usual cost for naval unit maintenance.

The Florentine Republic:
Spoiler :
Leader: Lorenzo de Medici
Capital: Florence
UT: Eye of the Renaissance - 50% Great People generation during Golden Ages. Golden Ages last 50% longer.
UA: Polymath - Replaces all Great Artists and Great Scientist. Can create all Great Works and hurry research.

Celtic Replacement Set:
Spoiler :

Kingdom of Scotland:
Spoiler :
Leader: Robert I
Capital: Edinburgh
UT: Highlander - Replaces Swordsman. Ignores terrain cost. Receives a large combat bonus in rough terrain, and a small combat penalty in open terrain.

Kingdom of Ireland:
Spoiler :
Leader: Brian Boru
Capital: Dublin
UT: Celtic Heritage - Gain Faith for each enemy killed.

Kingdom of Wales:
Spoiler :
Leader: Owain Glyndwr
Capital: Cardiff
UT: The Welsh Revolt - Captured Welsh cities are in Revolution for twice the normal time. Receive a combat bonus against annexed/puppeted cities.
UU: Longbowman - From England. English UU replaced with Spitfire, a fighter jet replacement.

The Gauls:
Spoiler :
Leader: Vercingetorix
Capital: Gergovia
UT: Gallic Rebellion - Upon defeating a Barbarian unit inside an encampment, there is a 67% chance they join your side. Units receive a combat bonus when fighting within their own territory.

What you can do to help:
  • I'm not an artist. I can create simple civ icons, but when it comes down to it, I'm not that good. If you have photoshop/can draw, I'll be eternally grateful.
  • I know for a fact that some of these will require lua, a language I don't speak. (I do speak python, though.) If you are capable of coding, or even teaching me(?), these civs will be much better.
  • If you don't know how to do art or lua, there's something even you (or I) can do: have ideas. If there's a civ you want to see, or an idea for one of the civs I already have posted, just post a reply and if I like it (or I'm bored), your idea could become a reality!

I have a leaderscreen and Icon for Brian Boru that you can use if you like. It's in my thread somewhere.

One search later...

Well, I found a map and a leaderscreen, but no icon. I think I could maybe make it though, I'm pretty good at that.
Thank you very much (in advance!) for letting me use these, though.

Well actually, I made the leaderscreen :P

Here is the icon I made too:

Never said I made it, haha. My artistic skills could never approach such greatness :P.

Always room for another Ireland and Wales! This version will be good for people who want Boudicca to go away, haha. I'm definitely looking forward to the Normans, Burgundy and Boers!

I should probably tell you that I tried to make the icons for Normandy again, sadly I was unable to find High quality images.

Oh, well...

But it's fine, I had a look around and couldn't find an good ones.
But...
I can't seem to find an icon online for William's scenario appearance. And William's DOM screen isn't really the same (i.e. it doesn't have a proper map, and neither do I. I also need a leaderscreen, but I can make that pretty easily.) If you (or anyone) would be willing...

Really, only Normandy and England are needed...

Meanwhile, which one of these do you think looks better?

Updates!

Normandy is almost complete! All I need now is a leader icon, and it should be ready for its public, albeit unpolished, release!

So, now I need to start working on another one! I'd say... The Boers, with their new, and probably broken, UT!
