I have a wireless Belkin G+ router. For the past several weeks it's been intermittently blocking Internet access to all my attached devices (PC, blu-ray player and smartphone). The router's log contains multiple entries such as

Mon Aug 20 13:12:27 2012 1 Blocked by DoS protection 192.168.2.x

and

Mon Aug 20 13:04:57 2012 1 Blocked/RST by DoS protection 192.168.2.x

where "x" takes the values 2, 3 or 4, corresponding to the three attached devices. The messages indicate that the router detects denial-of-service (DoS) attacks coming from the devices and blocks or resets them. I haven't been able to ascertain what's causing these "DoS" attacks. Troubleshooting efforts include

* Running multiple malware scans on my PC (two different products),
* Checking for router firmware updates,
* Swapping cables and ports on the router, and
* Resetting the router to its factory defaults.

None of these helped. I don't see any place in the router's configuration where I can raise the threshold of what it considers to be a DoS attack.

Since the router worked fine up until two or three weeks ago, I wonder if it's failing and needs to be replaced. Any other suggestions? Any recommendations for a new good wireless router? TIA.

Thanks for the advice. I couldn't figure out how to whitelist the devices internal to my network. However, I opened a ticket with Belkin on the issue. They determined the router to be at fault and are sending me a new one. Very nice customer service. They didn't ask me to repeat steps I'd already taken, nor did they try to place the blame elsewhere.
