So large Pangaea map, monarchy, 9ish civs.

We're in solid mid-game now, and it was SUPPOSED to be Hindus vs. Buddhists.

Myself, Wang Kong my BFF and western neighbor, and Pacal the Hindu founder who is NW of me, N of Wang Kong.

Then there's Zara, Mansa, and some others to the N and E of me who are the Buddhists. 2 civs have been eliminated, 2 others are capitulated vassals.


The problem is... the Buddhists are pulling ahead big time because Pacal and Wang Kong hate each other. They're more interested in fighting each other than in teching together and fighting off the evil Buddhas. I'm not really sure what to do.

Can't you instigate some sort of war with the Buddhists?

I've checked several times recently and it hasn't been an option.

I think with Wang Kong he's usually got too much on his hands.


Is there any way to get them to be friends?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but theoretically you could bribe your friends into peace w/ each other and then gift them military units to increase their power. Then when they declare war again it'll be against someone weaker.

Who controls the AP?

take control of the city with the AP, start a war with one of the buddist then declare holy war when the option comes up.

is "holy war" an actual button, or just a general strategy? does the AI like you better if you have the holy city? as opposed to same religion without the holy city? do other religions hate you more?

Join the buddhist club (or just go no state religion/free religion) and use the tech leverage to take out the hindus .

the ap resolution has a option for declare holy war against a ai that you or another ap member is at war with.

fighting a war together would allow you and the other AI to gain diplo points.
