If I'm going for a tourism victory, what are the #1 #2 and #3 wonders I should beeline for? Chronological order.

I'd say Parthenon, Louvre and Eiffel Tower.

Parthenon cos early tourism is more useful than it seems, plus the +5 culture (+4 from building, +1 from Great Work I believe) is very useful at that time of the game.

Louvre is good not just because it's the biggest tourism building, but also cos you get Archaeologists.

Eiffel Tower, +12 tourism. Simple.

You can forget parthenon if you play on high difficulty level(immortal or deity).
Most important Wonders are Uffizi(or Leaning Tower of Pisa) Louvre and Eiffel Tower.
Uffizi is usually easier to get than Pisa but if you play on lover difficulty you can try to grab both.

One option is to beeline Pisa and take Great Engineer and use it to get Uffizi.

You should also build porcelain tower because it very easy to get usually. You can build it on satellite city

1. Broadway
2. Louvre
3. SC or Uffizi

Oh the first three chronological you should get

1. Oracle
2. SC
3. Broadway

1. Stone Henge - GE circa t140.
2. Oracle - Tradition is done 20 turns faster.
3. Pisa - Free GE for theme wonder, Uffizi or Globe.

chronological order?

1. Oracle
2. Leaning Tower of Pisa
3. Globe Theatre
4. Sistine or Uffizi
5. Eiffel Tower

I play on immortal and if I can get these 5, I know I will win. The tricky part is getting 2, 3 and 4 since they all come around the same time. I like to hard build both 2 & 3 (ironworks in 2nd city), then use the free GE to rush #4.

Chazzycat - Thats why I include Stone Henge, but it could be ToA or 'Mids, terrain and civ depending. The GE pretty much gives you 2,3 and 4.

Interesting. I feel like that would really hurt my expansion on a lot of maps, though. I usually don't invest in any wonders until my 4 cities are up. Do you go for 3 cities instead with that build?

OCC until NC usually buy second city to preserve growth, then a third city. Back to back wonders and NC can be tight, but I usually take Aristocracy second & perhaps Monument to the Gods to save time if I am going for this. You vary it slightly depending on the terrain. You can find hammers with AH and BW.

ahhhhh. I am not a big fan of the OCC to NC style, but maybe I will give it another try when the AI is far away.

Or as diety just play the Mayans :) Oracle I can usually build in cap. With first Mayan GP I go with scientist and plant. Second one is GE that I use to build Pisa. With Pisa's GE build Sistine or Uffizi. By the time you get to ET you should have enough religion to buy GE for it. PT most times I can build in expo.

If I'm going for a tourism victory, what are the #1 #2 and #3 wonders I should beeline for? Chronological order.

Highly difficulty level dependent.
If you are on a low enough difficulty level, you can build every world wonder that carries a theming bonus along with the early one that only provides extra great work of writing and Effiel Tower.

As the difficulty level goes up, that early one would be the first I'd let go.

On higher levels, I'd let the Globe and Sistine go as well; but start the wonder building with the one that requires you to open Aesthetics, next get the Louvre (you'll need to open Exploration); and by late game you should have enough of a tech lead of the usual suspects.

On a still higher difficulty level, that Aesthetics one and possibly Louve as well would also need to be let go.

But even on the highest difficulty levels you should be able to build at least one of Eiffel Tower & Broadway. Broadway needs careful timing to ensure you have 3 pieces of Great Music in the same era (all from the same civ; which normally translates into all your own civ) Eiffel Tower is much easier to use.

The majority of the time since BNW I play emperor, and this is what works for me for cultural victories:

> Hanging Gardens (Big boost to food so you can work those writers and artists earlier);
> Great Mosque of Djenne (Big boost to faith [+6 including Mosque] and helps get your religion across your empire earlier);
> Sistine Chapel (Helps get you those SP's sooner, meaning you can dip into different paths to unlock certain wonders - which aren't really necessary, but can help)

This tactic works on the basis that you have taken 2 (or 3 if Byzantium) faith buildings in your religion, and you take the +2 tourism per religious building reformation belief. This will give you a massive tourism bonus over other civs in very early game. I tend to complete Tradition before entering Piety (unless I'm racing someone to the Great Mosque), and sometimes the AI will take this reformation belief before I get to it (although this is rare). If they do take it, I can easily change tactic and take the one where your missionaries wear down opposing religions which is great when taking tithes. With tithes in every city in the world, any VC is possible - at emperor at least.

I don't know how this will fair in higher difficulties as I've not tried BNW on them yet, but this is a little different to the conventional methods and I'd thought I'd share :)

I'd say Sistine Chapel over Uffizi and even Pisa. The reason is, if you don't get it, the AI will. The AI having a 25% culture boost means that it will be that much more difficult to win the culture victory against that particular AI.

Every Wonders that have culture and theme bonus. Culture, specially for Hotel and Airport.

1/ ToA or Stonehenge. For great engineer point. ToA is a better gamble on high levels.
2/ Oracle. Easy except sometimes where AI drops it around T80.
3/ Borobudur if you choose Sacred Rites path. Otherwise Sistine.

Don't forget your UA and circumstances. If you're France, theming bonus Wonders in Paris take on a bit higher priority; if a neighbour looks likely to build SC, let 'em do it for you. Brazil and Polynesia probably want guaranteed SC a bit more as their UIs are Culture farms. And of course Morocco wants Petra, no matter what. If you're on a pile of Stone, Mausoleum has interesting synergy with the GPs you'll be pouring out. If you've got no fresh water to run a Garden, HG will be worth a lot. If you're taking the Mussolini approach if conquering your way to a culture win by default, Pyramids are handy for endless repair/pillage cycling and rapid rebuilding.

This in my preferred order:
  • Sistine Chapel
  • Globe Theater

    [*]Louvre
    [*]Eiffel tower
    [*]Broadway
  • Sydney Opera House
Those in red I consider must haves. If I manage to get the 'Glory of God' reformation belief then I will try for a all Cultural wonders.

Just an FYI: you don't need any wonders for a tourism victory. Internet + fully stocked museums are probably enough in most games.

Having said that, I usually get the Oracle, The Leaning Tower of Pisa (if I can), the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower.

To add to this you have Hermitage and the overlooked Oxford & HE.

It's unusual for me to be in a situation where putting two GMu's in Broadway is better than postponing their generation to when I've got Hotels or WC boosting tourism and then sending them on tour. Paris and World Religion Holy Cities like Broadway but other than that I prefer to see it as a nice-to-have and a thing to steal & warehouse a few stolen symphonies.
