Check out this planned secret missile project by Von Braun.
The advanced Sänger Silverbird...

Too many advanced weapons that will never be used in this thread... I think I'll take the opposite side. Israel's chief weapon for the upcoming war:
Imagine you're walking in a dark alley when suddenly you see...

An office worker in a gas mask?

PS
What upcoming war...?

Do you mean Iraq?

A few pictures of HMS Ark Royal, the RN's last real aircraft carrier. I'll believe CVF exists when it starts to float!

The first two photos are of her in dock at Toulon. The 'other' carrier in the foreground is almost certainly the French carrier Arromanches. The last picture is from exercises in the Med around the same time (1960).

Here is the greatest piston-engined fighter of WW2, the legendary Spitfire!

A classic plane synonymous with German WW2 air power, the fearsome Messerschmitt 109!

Here is a fine image of the USA's classic iron eagles, the superb P51 series of interceptors!

And now to round off this Allied and Axis series of fighters:
Here is the nimble and deadly A6M2 Zero, flown by some of the most dedicated men ever to fight in the skies.

Ah, P-51. Cadillac of the Skies... :yeah:

A gorgeous and swift machine, but with a weakness to AA fire, sadly.

Though, the P47 THunderbolt was the heavy hitter when it came to ground attack!

That may be so, but the P-51 saw service through to Korea, where it was quite handy for ground attack. :yeah:
Thus, even though you can carry more in a utility, you still want to drive a Cadillac. :D

Simon, I agree!

Here is a vintage fighter. The classic Albatros DV...
An era of beautiful war machines, now long gone...(sigh.)

We have seen this guy before, but you have to marvel at the genius of German engineering!

This is the tremendous 'Dora' railway gun...a real heavy hitter!

In this book-series I'm reading, World War (first book named "In the Balance") The Germans used that Gun to blow up the Invaders troop transport SpaceShips.

They hid the Cannon with smoke, and the Aliens was trying to counteract the shots with Missiles, because they thought it was Missiles comming at them.

But the 80Cm in diameter Bullets couldn't be stopped by missiles, so the Germans blew up 2 Spaceships atleast. One of them carrying most of the Aliens nukes! :nuke:
