I would really like to try shooting one of these baddies! :)

aka: Komet/Comet/Horten/Gotha/HO-/GO-244?

First aircraft to achieve Mach 1 in level flight. Faster than a speeding bullet

Extremely volatile fuel though. Some even blew up on the runway; presumably too much direct sunlight

Looks like a 'Super-soaker!'

I take it that XM8 is the thing that was earlier called the 'Bullpup' modular 20mm gun?

The gun shown above doesn't have a bull-pup layout.

The B-2 is more closely related to Northrops original designs. The Germans werent the only ones fiddling with Flying Wing designs. Jack Northrop was a BIG proponent for flying wings.

Just as an FYI... Here is my wonder of destruction. Unfortunately I do not have a pic...

"The world's most powerful hydrogen bomb was detonated on the 30th of October 1961 [over Novaya Zemlya]. The bomb had an explosive force of 58 megatons, or almost 6,000 times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb. The bomb was dropped by an aircraft, and detonated 365 metres (1,200 feet) above the surface. The shock wave produced by this bomb was so powerful, it went thrice around the earth. The mushroom cloud extended almost 60 kilometres into the atmosphere."

From what i've heard, it looks like the OICW is officially dead. INstead, the two seperate pieces of it will be developed as seperate weapons.
Other XM-08 pics.

And this one I particularly like. Shows it field stripped.

I dunno what it is. Kinda freaky.

The Hood's deck armour was not in place, or it wasn't built, meaning that a salvo coming from the Bismarck probably went straight through the deck, into the main magasine, detonationg everything inside, causing a massive explosion. There were only three survivors.

Battlecruiser vs Battleship is damned stupid fubar!!

No amount of excuses make up for it. Damned moron (Churchill?) should never have sent the Hood to the Bismark in the first place. It was written in the manual and any leader stupid enough to ignore the designer's words goes down in my books as utterly hopeless.

I think there was actually 4 survivors, but it's accademic and not unexpected. All Royal Sovereigns blew up in the same way. Terrible loss of life. 1500+ sailors lost each time.

The Hood was built in my home town! :)

Was the Hood but a battlecruiser?

I always assumed it was a battleship.
I know it was the flagship of the RN, though.
