Ah, yeah, nearly failed at today's wordle, not exactly a word which I'd consider "common" lol.

Made only 3 in Quordle. Apparently

RETAX is a word. I had mind set on that the E needs to be the 2nd letter. I managed that one, but didn't get close to get SQUAD.

I did today's in 4, but if I had been in "hard mode" I wouldn't have gotten it. Took me a *long* time running thru my inner vocabulary to find one that fit the one green letter I had and the two that I was pretty sure where they went but not certain.

I find hard mode easier for hard words sometimes, because it forces me to get ever-more creative with my guesses.

What I hate is when it gets a word that has 'many' similar words with only one letter off. Then I'm stuck looking at four green letters as I count out more options than I have guesses left. It doesn't feel 'hard', since it's just guessing at that point.

After my silly first or couple of words, my goal is always to get the word on the next try. So what El Mac said. Today I got in 4, having the last 3 letters green from the third attempt, and a whole bunch of obvious options to match those three already blacked out. That left one word, for which I hard to stare at the screen and puts around for quite a while.

Worlde in 5, but my 4th guess was stupid .
Made it in Quordle, which I'm happy about , because normal is only 3 for me.

What I hate is when it gets a word that has 'many' similar words with only one letter off. Then I'm stuck looking at four green letters as I count out more options than I have guesses left. It doesn't feel 'hard', since it's just guessing at that point.

This is why I started opening with words loaded with consonants. Getting trapped early with vowel patterns and an "S" on hard mode can lead just that. My most recent favourite opener is GNARL, though I like to vary things a lot.

Today was a great day, Wordle in 3 and Quordle in 3/4/5/6, and don't assume you know what opener I used

Just to mix things up a bit, I tried some new starters in Quordle, but I'm not sure they were any more helpful than my previous choices, especially given that today's solutions turned out to share a lot of the same letters (6/4/5/8)

I had 2 one-letter-misses in Quordle today (still managed all), and Wordle in 5, but I also made one stupid guess :/.

Today's Wordle solution includes multiple common letters, and again I needed 5 guesses (Hard mode) to get them all correctly positioned
