I have a friend who wants to add a forum section to her WordPress built website. Do any of you have any experience with that? What plugins are best? Worst? Issues, problems etc. Her site is not busy and this will help her build traffic if a community develops. It will be a first step. She wants to integrate the forum into her website smoothly; can that be done with more robust forum software like Xenforo?

    Thanks

The easiest and most intuitive forum software I've worked with is Invision Power Boards. The InvisionFree forums are defunct now (having been "upgraded" to either Tapatalk or ZetaBoards - neither of which would be a good fit for an inexperienced forum owner), but Jcink is very similar to InvisionFree. It's my understanding that it can be upgraded to a pro version of the owner wants the features and services that come with paid accounts.

No idea how this would work with WordPress. I terminated my account with them due to security issues (theirs, not mine).
