There probably isn't much to distinguish JASDF base security/defense units from the JGSDF. I was looking at having a cheap defensive unit for Japanese cities. Perhaps a variant pose would work. You could call it whatever fits the situation. Have you looked at the SDF website? By the way, which Armour Modelling special edition is the one with the historical armour (yoroi, kabuto) article?

I don't have a unit like that in mind now, but if Taiwan isn't on your map, maybe you could use their infantry for a low cost Japanese unit.
I've never actually been to the JSDF website...

Its possible. Out of curiosity do NZ and Australia differ much in terms of uniform and equipment?

Well they do look fairly similary and they both use Steyr assualt rifles. Infact New Zealand buys Steyrs from the Australian manufacturer now.

They have similar uniforms but with different camo.

New Zealand soldiers also wear the style of hat shown on the Australian soldier.

So I guess if you do an Aussie soldier it could be used for a New Zealander too. Still would be cool to have both at some point in the future. I'm working on a mod set in NZ where the government faces a revolution so I NZ soldier would be very useful for me. At the moment I'm using a PLA soldier as a placeholder.

EDIT: If you do, do a NZ Soldier at some point you could give him brown skin as a large number of NZ soldiers are Maori and it would differentiate it a bit more from the Aussie soldier.

Roman Legion action flags - look at Rise & Fall of the Roman Empire (pinktilapia, et al). IIRC it has units with some but not all functions.



Army of India: Looks like you have several suitable choices for a unit. Make the unit with similar camo to Pakistan? Distinctive headgear? Black headband / bereteret? Mountain specialist uniform? All the linked images are from the official Army of India site.

How about some Republic of Korea Marines. @ Blue Monkey, right now I plan to make a generic Indian infantry, with the distinctive helmet. A Sikh Regiment, Border Guard, Rajput Regiment.

Pakistan will also get an infantry units, and one more unit, possibly special ops since they have an interesting looking gun FN F2000 (which is also used by the Indian special forces)

All camo I use comes from camopedia.

Only meant to suggest potential ideas for a single unit. For many regiments the only difference in dress is the turban or beret. Maybe use that for civ-color? Between that & changing the camo you'd get variety without a lot of remodeling if you did want to make multiple units. Just saying, not asking for you to make them.

I thought of making a few Indian units because they have one of the largest army in the world and so many diverse looking ones.

Making Units taught me a lot about texture making, I think I did a pretty good job on his uniform. ^ ^
