World Cup 2010 Qualification - Europe

young and hungry team, strong and creative midfield plus two very talented strikers. misimovic and salihovic are matching their great performances of the last season and dzeko is slowly gaining momentum, too. all in all, a gifted team when being able to attack.

Portugal only wins when Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't played, is there any obvious solution? Or was the work of the blacj mambo... you never know

ireland are in the play-offs before kick off, as cyprus beats bulgaria 4:1.

lol really? Cyprus beat Bulgaria, lol what a shame :P

ofc I've been telling that Ronaldo needs some bench time, not for him but for the team... I only see mourinho having the balls to ground Ronaldo at the bench when he plays badly, and they keep giving him that captain's armband, what a joke... -_-

at least we won I saw a few minutes, Simão played well, Liedson from what I heard only shoot twice or so, but one good goal, and some nice moves not bad, I hate to admit it but nice to have him. Pedro Mendes as far as I heard made a pretty good game, that's nice he deserved it...

@Vernon: lol

No luck. CR will not play agains Malta, so it increase the changes to 75% of winning... :D

but my logic is, if we can draw them in their country we can beat them in ours!

Well, that's pretty hopeful. Because of the away goal rule, a 0-0 home draw is not a bad result for Bahrain. If they score in New Zealand, New Zealand have to score two. And that's a difficult thing to do if Bahrain choose to defend tenaciously.

Nope, New Zealand still have most of the job to do. Though you are in a decent position, it's still gonna be tough.

Well, France in the play-off...5-0 against Faroe Island. Good game, but there is still some place for some Domenech bashing.

add to that that if it has been Gomis instead of Benzema coming at the end of the game, there would have been a lot of "France should play in the AFC"...

Well, please don't forget:
-Gignac
-Toulalan
-Ribery (injured)
-Gourcuff (injured)
-Lloris (suspension)

With our full team, we can't play as Togo...

ok, so the goal-difference hope didn't work. not if you beat Luxembourg only by 3.

So we'll have to at least tie Israel to keep the first spot. Should be possible :please:

Oh my god, this can't be true. Germany 1-1 Finland. Yeah, sounds like a great result, but the German goal was just so... well, so Finnish. It was just like this goal, which prevented Finland from entering play-off stage to play against Yugoslavia for a place in WC 1998.

ugh....not a good game. But South Africa, here we come :D

So for the play-off of Europe we have:
Portugal
France
Greece
Russia
Ukraine
Slovenia
Ireland
Bosnia
(Norway is out)

Slovakia not Slovenia

Slovakia I'm happy for.

Polish team would be better if we replaced the boys with the Stadium Janitors.

Congrats to Slovakia. That group was really the most competitive and entertaining. Slovakia are overdue qualification. Watched the Czech Rep. N. Ireland game. Milan Baros is useless. Why are the Czechs still playing him? Really impressed with Niall McGinn, and esp, Steven Davis. Steven Davis looks like a quality player ... I wonder how long Rangers can keep him for. :mischief:

Great game from Finland they really deserved to win this. It was a real shame how Germany played and how they scored in the last minute....

For the playoffs I think all the top seeded teams will come through except when Bosnia will play against Greece or France. Ok, France could have a chance if they would play as good as they can.

Un-effing-believable, I guess I never hoped to see us beat Belgium 2-0... :crazyeye:
Actually, that should as well read "anybody larger than Andorra"...
