World in Conflict

Only four more weeks until I can get it...

Is the game linear? Like you have to do the mission the game wants, or can you choose where to attack?

I cannot wait to try out this game, I will love to kill commies!

I like all the touches they put on it to make it authentic.

Like the Burger King (with original logo) in a cutscene or a Humvee playing Tears for Fears.

Also I was born the Fall of '89. Wolverines!

The missions are very linear. You're given an objective and a fixed number of resources to do it on a certain map.

The cool thing about the game is that you are rewarded on how well you play by being awarded tactical aid points. Once you've amassed a certain number you can call in tactical aid, which ranges from light artillery barrages to tactical nukes(very fun to use against the enemy).

Where this game really shines is Multiplayer. If you manage to get with players who wok as a team and a set of opponents who do the same you're in for a good 20 min slugfest.

I don't think this game is as addictive as CIV 4 but it is indeed pretty and alot of fun.

Well, I can't play this game due to a sucky computer, but is Houston in it? :D
No. The only US cities are a couple rural Washington towns, Seattle, and New York. The Maps aren't huge, a la Grand Theft Auto, but when you take into account how spectacular the graphics are they're a good size. The maps are rendered in 3D and hills and buildings break enemy lines of sight, and your own, leaving plenty of opportunity for ambushes.

And Infantry can easily move though destroyed buildings.

D.C. suburbs anyone? I live in one. (in South Riding, VA to be precise)
