Shortly after the razing of the temple, Jin decided to run off and enlist into the Qing Army, in an attempt to secure a better life for herself and her descendents. She was stationed far away from home, to deal with the insurrection of the Shaolin. She tries not to think too hard on the morality; she just desperately wants the money....

Option 1: Accept the mission and head to Shandong.

Chen "Lanzui" Zheng

After much thought, Chen Zheng accepted the young man's offer and went for Shandong. He walked for days on the dirt road leading to Shandong, passing through many small villages in his way. In one of those villages, just a day's march away from the Shandong province, he decided to drink some wine in one of the village's inns and rest a bit. As he was drinking his wine, an old beggar, with long grey beard and hair and dressed with the most dirty and torn clothes he had ever seen, walked nearby Chen Zheng and touched him. "I am sorry, it's an accident", the old man quickly apologized and was about to leave the inn. But Chen Zheng was not a kid nor could he be fooled easily. He searched his pocket for his purse and found out that it had gone missing.

"Hey, return my money to me! Now!", Chen Zheng shouted.

"You have so much money and you cannot spare some for this old beggar?", the old man asked.

Option 1: Try to persuade him to give you back the purse.
Option 2: Attack him and get back your purse by force.
Option 3: Let him have the purse.

Leifang Tzu

Leifang Tzu, Duan Yu and Chung Kuo walked to a wooden hut in the midst of a bamboo forest. In the dense forest of bamboo trees, a myriad of leaves glistened brightly. In the wooden hut, an old Taoist Priest was waiting for them. He was wearing a purple Taoist gown and had long white hair and beard.

"Who is she?", the Taoist asked. "I can tell she has potential."

"Master Chongyang, she is a girl I met on my trip.", Chung Kuo said. "She indeed seems to have great potential. You could teach her your Tao Kung Fu."

Master Chongyang turned to Leifang Tzu and said, "I shall teach you but if you use your Kung Fu for evil, I will be the first to intervene."

"What about me?", Duan Yu asked.

"What about you?"

"You could teach me too som-"

Seeing Chung Kuo's angry look, Duan Yu decided to shut up. For about a month, Master Chongyang trained Leifang Tzu to the ways of Tao Kung Fu. Then, he decided to ask her to help him.

"You have learned enough. Your prowess has increased vastly. I have a mission for you."

"What is it, Master?"

"Many years ago, I had trained a student named Yang Kang. Instead of using his Kung Fu to protect the weak, for money and glory he defected to the Qing and became an Imperial Guard. He is now an officer of Governor of Shandong, Guo Jing. I wish that you go to Shandong and kill him."

"At last, some adventure!", Duan Yu commented.

Option 1: Accept the mission and head to Shandong.
Option 2: Lie to Chongyang about accepting the mission and leave.
Option 3: Refuse the mission.

Stats changes: + 3 Attack, + 3 Defense, + 3 Speed.

Ru Bai

Ru Bai, disguised as peasant, took the injured man to a doctor in a nearby city. The doctor was wearing a brown gown and was an old grizzly man.

"This man needs some help.", Ru Bai said to the doctor.

"Let me see him."

The doctor examined carefully the man and then walked out of his office. Ru Bai was curious as to why the man left his office. Finally, after a few minutes, he returned.

"I had gone out to get some medicine.", the doctor said but Ru Bai could feel that something wasn't right.

The doctor approached the injured man and suddenly pulled a knife from his gown and stabbed him twice on the chest, killing him. "He is a rebel wanted by the Empire! There are posters of him everywhere in the city and the reward for killing him is vast. He is with the Ming resistance against the Manchu Imperial Court."

Option 1: Try to persuade him that you knew nothing of the man's identity and that you have nothing to do with the resistance.
Option 2: Kill him to get revenge for the man.
Option 3: Run away, as he may not believe your excuses and Imperial Guards are nearby.

Jin Lun

Jin Lun reported to Commander Wu. Wu was a bearded man, wearing a heavy coat fastened at the waist by a leather belt. From the belt hanged his sword, as well as a dagger. Underneath the coat, Wu was wearing an armor composed of small scales of iron and chain mail sewn together with leather tongs.

"Imperial Guard Jin Lun reporting!", the woman said.

"Jin Lun, there is rebel activity in Fujian Province. I want you to investigate this."

"I will, sir!"

Jin Lun traveled on horseback and reached Fujian. As she was galloping on the dirt road of the countryside, she saw a young thin man with handsome features and long black hair, who was wearing a silk white gown, lying on the ground and sleeping under the shadow of a tall tree.

Option 1: Move forward. This man has nothing to do with your mission.
Option 2: This man looks suspicious. Ask him what is he doing.

Notes:

Grandkhan and anyone who may not send orders once: Not sending orders once will not affect your character at all, since everyone has his own story/character. It is like MMORPGs, where you do not have to log in every day.

Option 1: Try to persuade him to give you back the purse.

Good. Leifang would get to test her meddle in combat, and with an usurper of the arts!

> Option 1: (Accept the mission and head to Shandong.)

> Bonus Sub-Option: (Ask Master Chongyang for more information. Specifically, deep his posse is and for any weaknesses in his style.)

Option 1: Picked

Ru Bai explain to the doctor that he only found the man on the road coming and had no idea of his identity saying that he was a traveling present looking for work for money and just so happen to see the man on the road.

Chen "Lanzui" Zheng

"Could you return to me my purse, please?", Chen Zheng asked. "Look, I know that you are in need of money, but that is no reason to steal the purses of others. Go find a work or beg but do not steal what belongs to other people."

The beggar laughed (Charisma failure). "No. I am not giving back your purse. Anyway, why do you need back your purse? Won't you be handsomely rewarded for killing Governor Guo Jing? Don't be greedy."

Hearing this, Chen Zheng almost spilled his wine and his face became ashen white. "Shut up! Do not say such things in a public place!", Chen Zheng shouted.

"Do not worry.", the old beggar whispered. "I too want to kill Guo Jing, for my own reasons. Not for the money. You can the keep the reward. My reasons are personal. So, are you interested in cooperating with me? Only together can we kill Guo Jing."

Option 1: Accept his proposal (Old Beggar joins you as Companion)
Option 2: Kill him to silence him.
Option 3: Refuse the offer.

Leifang Tzu

"Tell me more about this man.", Leifang Tzu asked her Master.

"He is a vicious and powerful fighter. He always attacks but he is reckless and leaves openings to his defense. So, if you are able to survive the initial attacks, you could exploit his weak defense."

Leifang Tzu and Duan Yu left the hut and began their journey for Shandong. During the journey, Leifang Tzu told Duan Yu: "You never told me who you really are. I only know your name."

"I am a.... let's just say that I am a son of a noble who got bored of conventional life and luxury and who wants to have a great adventure."

After walking for a week, they finally reached Jinan, the great capital of Shandong. The streets of the city were crowded with people and the two young people could see all kinds of products, from food to spices to vases, being sold by street vendors. As they were walking, they heard the sound of galloping. Three horses were galloping through the main street and the citizens quickly rushed away from the street so that the horses could pass by.

"It's Yang Kang, Officer of Governor Guo Jing's Guards.", an old man whispered. "He is such an arrogant man. His Mansion is larger than the Governor's."

"How do you know all of this?", Duan Yu asked.

"He comes to my Tavern every night to drink wine. And the damn bastard forces me to serve him wine for free!"

Option 1: Sneak during night into the Mansion to assassinate Yang Kang.
Option 2: Sneak during day into the Governor's Office to assassinate Yang Kang.
Option 3: Go during night to the Tavern and ambush there Yang Kang.

Ru Bai

"I'm just a peasant!", Ru Bai shouted. He was nervous and trembling. "I found him while I was traveling the countryside in search of a job and brought him here. I have nothing to do with the rebellion against the Empire."

"Alright, alright. I believe you", the doctor replied (Charisma successful). "So, you are searching for a job, right?"

"Yes...."

"I have a job for you and it will be well paid. But it is illegal"

"What kind of job?"

The doctor brought a jar to Ru Bai. "Inside this jar", he said, "I have hidden stolen diamonds from the Governor's Mansion. I want you to give them to 'Tough Li' in 'Zhang Village'."

Option 1: Accept the job.
Option 2: Refuse the job.
Option 3: Pretend to accept the job and keep the diamonds for yourself.
Option 4: Pretend to accept the job and return the diamonds to the Governor, although you don't know how he will react seeing a Shaolin survivor.

Stats changes: +1 Charisma.

Jin Lun

Jin Lun carefully approached the man, looking out for any ambush. "What are you doing here?", she asked.

"Hey, relax officer!", the man replied. The man examined carefully her face and commented, "It's nice to see a female Imperial Guard from time to time. Most times I see ugly fat guards, so it's nice to see someone like you for a change."

Before Jin Lun could reply, the man said, "Your short hair and uniform may fool most people but not me."

"You have yet to tell me what are you doing here."

"I see that you are not blind, so you should have been able to see that I was sleeping. So, what are you doing here, searching for rebels?"

"None of your business."

"But I could help you, for the right price of course. I know where the rebels are located."

Option 1: Accept his offer.
Option 2: Refuse the offer and leave.
Option 3: He is too rude. Give him a good beating so that he can learn to respect Imperial Guards.

Option 2: Sneak during day into the Governor's Office to assassinate Yang Kang.
Option 3: Go during night to the Tavern and ambush there Yang Kang.
> Option 3: If Leifang were to run up on dude at the Governor's Office, that might be seen as some ancient form of terrorism/anti-government activity. Choosing to run up on dude at the tavern later on will make her seem more interested in Yang Kang, and not the government itself. Plus, he gets a chance to act right since she won't ambush him, instead fighting him head-on like a true martial artist. (Go during night to the Tavern and ambush there Yang Kang.)

Picked Option 4: Pretend to accept the job and return the diamonds to the Governor, although you don't know how he will react seeing a Shaolin survivor. Ru will return the diamonds know full well that it might put him in jail.

OCC: in my opinions all these options suck since 1)could end with me being a criminal, 2) end with doctor trying to kill me to silent me for knowing he stole from the governor, 3) still end up being a criminal but with both sides wanting me dead, 4) could go to jail

We can very well work together, but only after you give me my purse. (If I can threat/scare him ?) Else Option 2

Sorry, this moved a lot faster than I expected.

Sorry for late update. :)

Update 5:

Wei Shen

"Of course I am a patriot!", Wei Shen said to Lo Wei, but he could not help but smirk at this statement. He was never a good actor. But nevertheless, Lo Wei believed him.

"Nice to see someone friendly to me. We Shaolin don't have many friends. We are hunted down like animals by the damn Manchus. Once, we were thousands. Now, we are almost all but extinct. Only a few of us have survived, all the rest perished. The Monastery has been burned to the ground, the teachings of the Ancient Sages lost forever. Anyway, let me lead you to the rebel camp."

Wei Shen and Lo Wei traveled for days until they reached a military camp. On the outside, the camp was fortified by a wooden wall. On the inside, all Wei Shen could see was a few tents. Once inside, a sturdy fat bearded man holding two huge axes on his hands greeted Wei Shen and Lo Wei.

"Who is this man?", the bearded man asked Lo Wei.

"Master Mai, this is Wei Shen, a patriot who saved me from the Imperial Guards."

"Good to meet you.", Master Mai said, smiling. "I am the leader of the rebellion in this part of the country. The 'Overseer' has instructed me to build up military forces for the upcoming rebellion against the Empire."

"Overseer?". Wei Shen was surprised. He knew that there were rebels, but most Imperials believed that the rebels were few crazy nationalists and surviving Shaolin. But what Master Mai was describing was that the rebels were well organized, had military discipline and hierarchy.

"The 'Overseer' is the representative of Prince Han, the rightful heir to the Ming throne. Once the Manchus are thrown out of China, Prince Han shall be restored on the Imperial Throne."

"I see..."

"I have a mission for you. I want you to accompany Lo Wei in a mission to steal supplies from a nearby Qing military base. The Imperials will not know what hit them if you two combine forces to attack them."

Option 1: Accept the mission to gain the trust of the rebels and find out who the Overseer is.
Option 2: Flee the rebel camp and report to the nearest military officer the presence of rebels in the area.

Chen "Lanzui" Zheng

Chen Zheng thought about the old beggar's offer. If he was going to assassinate Governor Guo Jing, he would need every assistance he could get.

"I will agree", he said, "but first give me back my purse!"

"Alright, I'll give you most of your credits. I will keep only five to buy a jar of wine.", the old man replied and threw at Chen Zheng his purse.

"Thanks....", Chen Zheng said. "So, shall we begin our journey to Shandong to kill Guo Jing?"

"Shall we?", the beggar asked. "Are you truly certain that you are powerful enough to kill him?"

"I have confidence in myself."

The beggar laughed. "Too much confidence leads to one's destruction. If you wish, I may teach you some moves which would help you in our quest to kill Guo Jing."

Option 1: Accept his offer.
Option 2: You do not need further training. Just get to Shandong already.

Leifang Tzu

Leifang Tzu and Duan Yu barged into the tavern where Yang Kang was drinking his wine with some friends. Yang Kang was tall, sturdy and had an aristocratic look.

"You!", Leifang Tzu shouted. "You betrayed your Teacher and work for the Manchus, it's time to die!"

Yang Kang laughed. "You hope to kill me? That's the best joke I've heard in ages. How do you hope to stand against me?"

Yang Kang rushed forward and with a flying kick kicked Leifang Tzu's chests (defense failure). Leifang Tzu was pushed back but as soon as Yang Kang approached her, she punched him on the stomach with her left fist (attack successful). Yang Kang tried to kick her again but Leifang Tzu blocked his kick with her right elbow (defense successful). She then punched him again with her fist, this time on the face (attack successful). His nose broke and blood was pouring from his wound. Leifang Tzu finished him off but kicking him on the chest with a quick and powerful back kick (attack successful). Yang Kang instantly died.

"We defeated Yang Kang, but we should find a place to hide or the authorities will get us.", Duan Yu said. "I suggest we go to the Wudang Mountain."

Option 1: Go to Wudang.
Option 2: Remain in Shandong.
Option 3: Return to Teacher Chongyang to report your success.

Stats changes: + 1 Attack, + 1 Defense

Ru Bai

Ru Bai decided to take the risk to bring the jar with the diamonds back to the Governor. When Ru Bai reached the Governor's Mansion, the guard gave him an angry look. "What do you want?", the guard shouted. "Get lost, you dirty peasant!"

"I know of the stolen diamonds.", Ru Bai said.

"I will report to the Governor and he will decide what to do with you."

The Guard rushed into the Mansion and returned a minute later, accompanied by the Governor. Ru Bai explained everything to the Governor, and he seemed pleased with him (charisma successful).

"Bravo, young man.", the Governor said. "To thank you, I shall give you three diamonds."

Ru Bai could not believe his luck. Not only did the Governor not realize that he was a Shaolin but instead he rewarded him with three diamonds. Ru Bai walked out of the city, rich and happy.

As he was walking a dirt road on the countryside, suddenly a sturdy man charged with sword at hand and shouting: "Die, traitor to the Shaolin!!"

Option 1: Fight him.
Option 2: Flee.
Option 3: Ask him why he attacks you.

Stats changes: +1 charisma.

Jin Lun

Although Jin Lun was somewhat irritated with the man, she decided to accept his offer. She could not hope to find by herself the rebel camp. The man led her to a small and poor village on the countryside. Jin Lun was perplexed. The man said that he would lead her to the rebels, but why did he lead her to a village instead?

"See those men, Guard.", the man said, pointing his finger at a few men distributing food and credits to the poor, dirty, exhausted and hungry peasants of the village. "Those are the rebels. The Governor of the area is a corrupt man who accepts bribes by the rich landlords and turns a blind eye to the hardship of the peasants. For example, a son of one of the landlords raped the wife of a peasant. What the governor did? He killed him. Not the rapist. The peasant. While the Governor lives in luxury, the peasants are hungry. That's why we rebel against this regime. Those men you see stole those supplies from a landlord and now give them back to the people. We are thieves? Yes. But what we steal, we give it to those who are truly in need."

"Why do you tell me of this?", Jin Lun asked.

"You have potential. You could become a great warrior. But you waste your abilities serving a corrupt regime. Join us and help the people. Use your abilities for a good cause. If not, I shall allow you to leave. It is your choice to make and I will not force you to join us if you do not wish to do so by your own will."

Option 1: Join the rebels (man will join you as companion)
Option 2: Refuse the offer and leave.
Option 3: Attack him. He is a rebel.
Option 4: Pretend to join the rebels to gather information about them.

Yang Wenli

Yang Wenli was one of the last remaining Shaolin. He had been hunted down by the Manchus like a wild animal, but he always escaped. Now, he was walking towards the beach. As he reached the beach, he could see the sun shining brightly and reflecting on the blue sea, giving it a golden color. Then, he suddenly heard a splashing sound and saw a circle of small ripples on the sea. He retreated by a few steps and hid himself behind a tree, which could both offer him a view of the sea and also hide him.

There was a sudden splash and Yang Wenli could see first a head and then a back emerging from the water. It was surely the back of a girl. She had snow white skin and long raven hair. Her hair was dripping wet. He was awed. She turned towards him. At first,Yang Wenli blushed. But then he noticed that the girl had not seen him. He was still safely hidden behind the tree. Only then did he take a closer look at her. He saw her bright eyes. Her jade like skin.

What Yang Wenli did not notice however was that a tall sturdy man was behind him and looking at him. The man coughed and said, "It seems you have taken great interest in the daughter of Governor Guo Jing. I assure you that he will not like this nor the soldiers I have brought with me to protect Lady Guo will like this."

Option 1: Try to make an excuse and persuade him that you just came to this place.
Option 2: Flee.
Option 3: Fight him.

"Ah! Wokou captured my betrothed, sir, and they told me to come to this beach tomorrow night to pay her ransom. I wanted to scope out the beach to see if there was anywhere to launch a surprise attack from, as I fear they will not honor their word."

This is, of course, complete bull.

Ok, firstly either these rebels are completely stupid for inviting a guard into their town, or they're actually planning on trying to ransom me or worse. Either way, I don't particularly feel endeared to their cause. I don't think leaving in broad daylight, unlike what he said, is a real choice here.

At the same point, I'm no patriot to the Manchus, don't get me wrong, but they're paying my bills here. I didn't leave my family farm just to become a peasant again. I'm trying to build a better future here. I don't specificly want to go beat them up and kill them, but I can't just, give up everything I'm doing.

I'm going to go with option 4, with the provision that I make dodge at nightfall when I have a better chance leaving undetected.

Chen "Lanzui" Zheng

Option 1 : Accept his offer.

Guess I can spare some of my time to learn a trick or two from the man who can snitch my purse from me. Okay lets see what stuff you can do. I only hope you dont expect me to call you master and whatever

Leifang Tzu

Leifang Tzu and Duan Yu barged into the tavern where Yang Kang was drinking his wine with some friends. Yang Kang was tall, sturdy and had an aristocratic look.

"WHAT WHAT WHAT AHHH please dont hurt me why do you attack me saying am a Shaolin?" said Ru tryng to fool the men in making him thinking that he not a Shaolin.

Option 3: Ask him why he attacks you.
