EDIT: I also intentionally left out bin Laden's network. I'm talking about organizations/people that have long-standing reputations as terrorists.

Don't understand the question. Al CApone was a good criminal. Are you asking which terrorist organization (and I hardly think Arafat belongs on that list. He has a noble peace prize. Hell why not just throw nelson mandela on there, he was considered to nothing more than a communist terrorist in Pretoria) is most heinous or which is more effective. So if you are asking which is the most heinous organization, my vote goes to the Iranians. The most effective terrorist force of the twentieth century has been the IRA.

P.S. IRA is disarming and how do you the unionists rewarded the leader that got them to disarm? They sacked him. Good-bye Mr. Trimble

One would have to consider Iraq as right up there, as they did back Carlos' attack on the OPEC conference in 1975, and the attack on the Israeli athletes at Munich.

There is a great deal of interconnectivity in Middle Eastern terrorism, so it can be somewhat hard to delineate, but in terms of the most evil and bloodthirsty, the RAF and Japenese Red Army are among the top, along with Black September (even though that was not a real terrorist group, but rather a monker adopted by others.)

I didn't include Far Eastern countries just because of the fact that they generally don't use terrorism. They're more militant.

I'd have to agree with the poster that said violence for political gain is sick, and therefore all terrorists are just as evil (or in need of some forced medication....).

The root of all evil is not money, but the belief that the end somehow justifies the means.

All terrorist groups have there reasons, there not just doing it for the hell of it ya know!!! Sure, it is terriable and unexcusable to kill inocent people but you can't go in all guns blazing like the current situation in Afghanistan. The peace process in Ireland should be an example to all, it has taken alot of time and effort but it's finally showing sign's that maybe one day there will be peace.

And the Palestinian's are not terrorist's, they are freedom fighters so try not to lose sight of why they are engaged in there current struggle. And yes, I condem the killing of Isreali citizens, but I equally condem Isreal's policy of assination and occupation.

the word terrorism is so widely used, attac has been called terrorists for example, so i need a defination of the word terrorism before i can answer any questions about it.

Heh-heh...I included the IRA, they're at the bottom (Irish Republican Army) and the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization), I just placed PLO under Arafat, seeing as how he's the head honcho behind the PLO.
