Worst Congress Ever

Border security is bigotry? Well, I guess I must be the grand wizard of the KKK then!

The title of bigot belongs to George Allen.

Ted Stevens is a Senator.

I've never understood why the term "Congressman" is only used to refer to Representatives. The Senate is a part of Congress, so shouldn't Senators also be covered under the generic "Congressman" umbrella? Use "Senator" and "Representative" if you want to be specific about members of one chamber or the other.

I'm guessing because Representator sounds stupid? :)

Oh yea as soon as the Democrats take house it's the worst congress ever? Give me a break.

Hahahahah you did it again Commie! Your posts are brilliant! :goodjob:

To Ted Stevens, yes he is a Senator. I think you are referring to the "bridge to nowhere", which certainly frosted my rear too. But remember these Senators and Representatives are there to squeeze as much for their district/state as they can, as that is what they are elected to do. The dreaded pork, which I hate so much. But you can't lament Stevens as a bad congressman (Senator)...I would criticize those around him who passed the bill and supported his endeavor.

Pork is bad.

How come people complain about the bridge to nowhere yet keep quiet when our representatives spend trillions of dollars on wasteful programs in social welfare. It's been forty years since the Johnson's "Great Leap Forward" and how many more people are off government assistance now than they were all those years ago?

I don't know about worst ever. I like learning about history & following politics but reviewing the previous 108 congresses doesn't sound too appealing to me.

The 109th congress was pretty bad. They gave George W. Bush whatever he wanted and were fervent Global Warming denialist. I would have to agree with Rolling Stone on some of the points they raised but I still don't think it was the worst congress ever. Maybe the combination of Dubya in the White House and a Republican controlled congress does equal the worst run government U.S. History.

I'm going to take a guess and say less than $4,500,000 per person.

LMAO
The GOP's "take that, bltch" approach to governing

LOL
the vote was held late at night, away from the prying eyes of the public, who might be horrified by what they see. Thanks to such tactics, the 109th is known as the "Dracula" Congress: Twenty bills have been brought to a vote between midnight and 7 a.m.

Payback time
Republicans chucked that long-standing arrangement and issued more than 1,000 subpoenas to investigate alleged administration and Democratic misconduct, reviewing more than 2 million pages of government documents.

Guess how many subpoenas have been issued to the White House since George Bush took office? Zero -- that's right, zero, the same as the number of open rules debated this year; two fewer than the number of appropriations bills passed on time.

I generally like to stick with Family Guy for my facts.

I was disappointed that the moderates were replaced with democrats. If anything it was only those further to the right that needed a boot out the door. Thats why I think the Dems had no reason to be celebrating their supposed victory.

Yeah they shouldn't have celebrated. Controlling 51% of Congress is very lame. For any party. No productivity at all. Everybody fighting. You can't get 2/3 congress to pass a vetoed bill if it meant saving mankind.

But we do need guys like Liberman (Dems with Rep ideas.). ;)

Also, you can't trust Family Guy. Their producers are manatee!!!

Me too. And I'm even the wrong color to begin with!

Oh well i support them trying. Bush is a stubborn mule who has to have his way over the american people.

The symbolism means something and i hope it brings the republicans to thier ruin.
