Wow....plus SMAC mod reborn!

We'll need testers who offer good, constructive feedback when the time comes so I hope everyone is still around and not snippered.

How extensively do you plan to deviate from SMAC? It seems your not interested in a strait SMAC clone or even a Civ4-avied SMAC, are you going all the way to realm of 'SMAC like game' ala Roanoke Mod?

I think we actually used the phrase 'all SMACed up'

We lost steam with Roanoke, I think probably due to a lack of focus and real life catching up - for me it was student debt :p .
I do think we didnt spend long enough with ideas before trying to get them in the game, but then I look at a whole million other mods that never get started because all they are is a chalkboard concept.

You have to do something in the middle to find that balance. For me, all the more respect to the guys with FFH and the other mega mods, for managing that with some skill. Anyways, I'll always be a massive SMAC fan and if anything ever comes of this, or SOTM, or someone starts a Roanoke: The Revival, I would quite literally wet my pants with joy upon mention of a playtest

RL is slowing us down, but an Alpha public release is at the end of the tunnel.

Well, there are still progress and it is not stagnant. Many of the Team members are involved in other projects also and getting a unit workshop to work as expected as consumed loads of time. Hope you will forgive us ! Now, there's this new patch for BtS ...
Stoping here, I don't want to sell more reason why alpha is not out yet.

I'd be most interested in helping in any capacity you have for me. I loved SMAC and Alien Crossfire (Still have them!), and would be willing to assist in any area. I don't know coding, but I can playtest with the best of them.

This sounds most promising.
