Writing in Gunpowder

Speaking of, we have finally met! One of your Scouts has made contact with our outpost near Mount Sterdam. I offered Open Borders and expect some form of diplomacy do ensue.

A certain Miguel from Spain showed up too.

Cathy does what she does best and settles in everyone's faces. I'm glad I founded Frankfurt just in time to prevent her from cutting me off from the rest of the continent.

Miguel from Spain is simply an explorer and a traveler. He comes with no specific messages other than his well wishes from Queen Isabella. He is checking out the newly built town of Frankfurt and looks to explore the mighty German empire.

Meanwhile the Queen's crusade against the barbarian uprising to the south continues... to march south. Because they came from the other side of the empire!

No discussions again this turn with the Portuguese. Isabella is aware of them but there has been a complete lack of contact or interest to our west. Barcelona, being the military city they are, has no concerns nor care to discuss anything with Portugal, and the queen's authority outside of Madrid is limited.

I am still waiting for a message from you Hawklord.

Spain greets the French emissaries with a gift of the knowledge of Meditation. May our peaceful dealings lead to prosperous trade in the future!

Meanwhile Isabella's strike force has finally reached the barbarian city. We will see what the outcome is next turn!

Hamburgian sages have offered to teach Portuguese travelers the secrets of Mathematics in exchange for their philosophy of Monotheism and a load of Gold.

The Berlin Council meanwhile is about to enlist the help of a Spanish Scout for their colonization efforts to the south.

The raiding party sent by the Queen to destroy the barbarous Hittites to the south sits outside the city. The defenses of the city are larger than the Spanish scouts originally indicated. A runner is sent back to the Queen asking for reinforcements. Meanwhile the raiding party camps out outside the city, archers staring each other down for the time being, waiting for the Queen's reinforcements to arrive with the necessary numbers to successfully invade and occupy the city...

The city of Essen and religion of Taoism have been founded this turn, and yet I'm too busy playing Killing Floor to bother writing a story post, sorry about that.

Miguel the scout explores the lands of Germany. Being sent directly from Isabella herself, he is also partially a diplomat representing Spain in foreign lands. After discovering the Germans have a new way of trading via currency, he was willing to trade the secrets of metal casting in exchange for the ways to create a national currency in Spain, along with 50 German franks to open the door of friendship between the Germans and Spanish even wider.

Meanwhile, Isabella's First and Third Regiments, newly created for the war with the Hittites, marches south.
