The city of Santiago was founded in the south of the Spanish empire, right near the Dutch border. The Barcelonian militia had been camped out in the area to oversee the Dutch movements nearby, and some Jewish settlers from Cordoba decided to set out and create a new settlement in the area. The crown made sure the Barcelonian militia would move into the new city to defend it, while the Jewish people brought along their own spearmen for defense. The land was fertile along the crescent barrier islands the Spanish people now controlled.

New laptop, thats fun!

Islamic missionaries from the Spanish capital reached the independent Jewish city of Cordoba, looking to spread the One True Faith to the people there and bring them back under the full control of the crown. Unfortunately these people are very independent and were not accepting of Islam in the city. The Queen is going to consider her options. The city and people were still loyal to the crown and considered themselves Spanish, including payment of taxes, however they were an unruly bunch who would not listen to religious doctrines and guidance.

(Can't make this stuff up - I completely arbitrarily decided these people would be religiously independent people... and they are actually proving to be as such. Is there any proof that this world we are making isn't actually real???? haha)

New laptop, thats fun!

I wish I could afford that, my PC is getting old and my iPad isn't exactly a gaming station.

My old laptop was over 4 years old and couldn't run the new civ without getting too hot and turning itself off. It was very slow rendering videos too.

Time to invest in a new one. I bought the last one when civ V came out when something similar happened.

Been fun getting these old civs to run in windows 8.1 (not)

New technology is a good and bad thing... once you get through the pain of setup though it should be refreshing to have everything run faster and with complete graphics! I went through that recently too, but its nice once it all works!
