Wrong evaluation of affinity match / mismatch in diplomacy

Saw this in a game of a friend (who doesn't speak English and asked me to report it):

He (as ARC) had an affinity level of 13 Harmony / 1 Purity / 0 Supremacy, while the leading AI (Polyaustralia) had 1 Harmony / 0 Purity / 0 Supremacy (playing at lowest difficulty, thus the extreme lead). So it was a match in affinity, but the AI was telling him "You have different attitudes towards the aliens" in the diplomacy screen. Curiously, the same was *not* being said by another AI (KP) with 0 Harmony / 0 Purity / 2 Supremacy.

Attitude towards aliens refers to whether you've been killing them and removing their nests or not.

That hasn't anything to do with affinity but with the attitude towards aliens (i.e. how hostile they are and how often you attack/kill them).

He was friendly with the aliens (blue level) *and* killing them occasionally (so occasionally that they remained blue).

Does it mean Hutama was hostile towards aliens and disagreed with him being friendly, or Hutama was friendly with aliens and disagreed with his occasional killings?

I've had something similar happen when I have had 2 in purity, 3 in supremacy and 14 in harmony.

AIs contacted me telling me "if my beliefs were as I thought, I'd be back on Earth and everything would be fine", or words to that effect, which is what they say if you follow purity.

The way the AI factions determine how you are treating aliens is based on a completely different system from the way the alien hostility level is calculated.

For example AI can't care less if you have a nest in your borders, aliens do. Moreover (I don't if by design or because of a bug) "killing aliens" in itself does not degenerate your relationship with aliens, only "attacking" does, and not even all of the attacks.

It has been reported that other factions can become angry with you just for killing aliens as a consequence of the aliens attacks (as in the case where they suicide attack you for being near a nest), so "killing" is actually what they care about.

That's actually neither a sentence directed to purity nor to harmony specifically, it's supposed to be one of the two sentence that Supremacy can tell to both the other two affinities.
