Not quite the smoking gun but another interesting link between Flynn and Russian hackers
This seems so Nixon like to break into the Democrats HQ and steal information. Iam wondering if this intell is from the British intelligence services.

WSJ: Claiming To Rep Flynn, Late GOPer Sought Clinton Emails From Hackers

Those investigators have examined reports from intelligence agencies that describe Russian hackers discussing how to obtain emails from Mrs. Clinton's server and then transmit them to Mr. Flynn via an intermediary, according to U.S. officials with knowledge of the intelligence.

In phone conversations, Mr. Smith told a computer expert he was in direct contact with Mr. Flynn and his son, according to this expert. The person said an anti-Clinton research document prepared by Mr. Smith's group identified the younger Mr. Flynn as someone associated with the effort. The expert said that based on his conversations with Mr. Smith, he understood the elder Mr. Flynn to be coordinating with Mr. Smith's group in his capacity as a Trump campaign adviser.

Nope. This is going to be the smoking gun.

What is it with Republicans and traitors? The GOP became the home of wanna-be confederates, Nixon derailed a peace deal in Vietnam, Reagan stole our weapons and sold them to Iranian terrorists, and both Bushes lied us into wars with Iraq.

It's just 'party first, country second maybe' taken to its logical conclusion.

By the way...

Notice that the right wing echo chamber the past couple days has shifted from "there's no evidence of collusion" to "what would be so bad about working with the Russians to expose the truth about Hilary, if someone actually had done that?" Observation...someone knew this story was about to break.

And, speaking of people knowing this story was about to break...is it a coincidence that Trump picked today to once again completely embarrass himself on Twitter?

Yep. That's part of the smoke coming out of this gun.

The other relevant detail is that Flynn's son is now also implicated. Sometimes people will serve as a fall guy. Don't know Flynn to know well enough to know whether he's one of that sort. But with his son in the mix, if it gets to him and he knows it goes to Trump, he'll sing.

The "Russia, if you have the 30,000 e-mails, please release them" moment on the campaign trail is looking very interesting, suddenly. What put it into his head to say that, just then, I wonder?

Sad!
Fake News!

Flynn clearly violated federal election law. Trump should be very afraid. Maybe he will offer Flynn a preemptive pardon to keep him from testifying further.

I think it was Lawrence O'Donnell who noted that for all we know Trump might already have pardoned Flynn. Evidently, there's no requirement that pardons be made public!

That is scary and I would hope the WH is leaky enough for that to get out.

Tonight, the WSJ extended their article to add that Peter Smith was in contact with both Kellyanne Conway and Steve Bannon. If that is supported, the trouble is even worse. The WSJ link is behind a paywall for now, but it is talked about here. The paywall should disappear in a day or so.

Disclosure: one of the authors of the tonight's article is married to my niece.
