WW1 Aircraft Pack 1

Wow those are some really nice planes! Always room for some WW1 aircraft.

The next pack could be tanks OR aircraft, it just depends on what I feel like working on. I'm working on a new project, you guys can probably figure out what it is.

As for when? Who can say? Not days, that's for sure. Maybe next weekend?

Well, that weekend has come and gone (as did some others). Any idea when it will be available ? Looking forward to it :)

The Bleriot XI, Caudron G.4, Airco DH.2, Albatros D.III and Fokker Dr.1 are all done. The Morane-Saulnier Type H/L is modeled and skinned (needs wire rigging/animating), and the Airco DH.4 and Sikorsky Ilya Murometz are nearly done with their models. I'll probably post the Bleriot, Caudron, DH.2, Albatros and Dr.1 soon (this weekend, for real). The others, well... I don't know. Life is busy with the holidays approaching and work and all. I'm also working on a new mod that will include all of these, which is taking up a lot of my time. More on that later though.

Thanks for the great units. Below are the images of the Ottoman airplanes of the period. I was hoping you could skin or make some of the planes with star&crescent insignia on the wings and tail as shown. These are all pre-WWI aircrafts:

Tunch Khan-

The Ottoman Empire will be fully represented, don't worry. Here's a work-in-progress shot of the Bleriot XI for them:

I have plans for many of the units you showed, but the pictures help... glad to know these things will get some use!

While the Bleriot XI looks nice Snafu... how could that get included in Civ4? I for one wouldn't be caught dead flying in one (well, if I was in one, I probably would be dead!).

Many thanks for the great work... :)

guess i asked for that...how about, what would one suggest as a starting tech and what are some suggested stats and is this a modular thing where you unzip it into the Mod folder?

These are 'just' graphics, you need to come up with the xml yourself (including stats and the techs they are based on). So they are not a module in their own right (and placing them in one won't make them appear in that mod).

I currently also try to figure out how to integrate some of these in my mod. So I have taken a look around what the other mods do.

Basically there are two options here, either introduce a new tech before Flight (which then leads to Flight) like Early Flight (Varietas Delectat) or Aeronautics (MarnzMod), or simply introduce them with e.g. Physics (requires Rifling and Oil).

As to the strength of these, they range from

Early Bomber : str 8, move 1, cost 100, range 6 (Wolfshanze) to str 12, move 1, cost 120, range 5 (VD)

Early Fighter : str 6, move 1, cost 80, range 4 (Wolfshanze) to str 8, move 1, cost 100, range 4 (VD)

(For comparison : CIV Bomber : 16,1,140,8, CIV Fighter : 12,1,100,6)

Which way you go (either one or a completely different one) is up to you.

i appreciate all the information. I have recently been testing out mods-
learned that you can't mod a mod-

In my own Wolfshanze Mod, I didn't add any new techs to the tech-tree, but I did add the "WWI" period of units to the game and reset a few "WWII" period units to a certain tech-line as well.

For example, WWI includes these units and tech requirements:
Dreadnought: Assembly Line+Artillery+Combustion+Physics
Early Tank: Combustion+Assembly Line+Artillery
Early Fighter/Bomber: Flight

WWII includes these units and tech requirements:
Battleship: Industrialism+Artillery+Combustion
Tank: Industrialism+Combustion+Radio+Artillery
Fighter/Bomber: Radio+Flight

For the most-part in my mod, you can get most WWI units with Assembly Line, Flight & Artillery, and you can get most WWII units with Industrialism and Radio. Of course I did my mod with the goal of changing as little of the default game as possible to add units, but if you want to add-in new techs, then you can certainly be more creative.

Other then being differant airframes, what's the differance between the Nieuport 11 and Nieuport 17... looks like they have differant national markings?!?!? Which is which nation?
