Heres my reskin of a ww1 infantryman into a Red Army soldier.

The model is the ww1 soldier with a resized cossack head (I dont take credit for this as I found the unit in the WW2MOD )

I have reskinned the model to (as closely as possible) reflect the red army winter jacket they wore in the later part of the war. I wanted to add a leather strap against one side of his chest but the model skin does not allow for this representation.

I would love to have included this unit with the Russuan PPSh sub machine gun but I cant get the animation to work as I only have NIF viewer to edit units with :(

Eventually I or someone else can add an PPSh version to this thread down the track :sad:

For some odd reason, I like and noticed how you reskinned the pants and boots on this unit... I noticed that before I even realized the head.
I can't help you with the machine gun though.

I agree another version with PPSh would be also nice (or existing one with Moisine Riffle)
 
Hope it also find a warm home in the WW2 1939 mod asioasioasio.

If I cant get the PPSh to work properly, can someone with the right software take a look at it for me?

Yeah it will find way to the mod - i'll make moisne for this occasion :)
With great help from GarretSidzaka wich has knowledge of reboning units i'll try to mix your unit so it will shot from PPsh (using marine animation)

Also, I have not given up on the airfield idea, I am just very random when it comes to what I choose to work on....I keep doing different things and never sitting long enough to finish one thing completely....you should see my to-do-list :eek:

i'm using this settings -

I am not much of an expert on the workings of unit files but the only thing I can tell that is different is I dont remember adding this line in my xml file. I have no reference to the ww1 infantry model.

I just cut and pasted it in from the WW2MOD and it showed up fine first time :confused:

i've changed it on just Art/Units/RedArmyInfantry/redarmy.nif and it's ok now
just wondering, why ww1_soldier_fx.nif file was inside of ur red army soldier folder then !?
 
The person who originally did it used the ww1 infantry body and put the cossack head on it.

I just got the idea to shrinks the head and reskin the uniform to look closer to the soviet padded winter uniform.
