In case most of you haven't noticed, I haven't gone away. I've been posting my new units exclusively in the Modern Warfare Mod. I felt this one needed to be an exception. I present the famous Willys Jeep!



Data Base

Polycount: ~1,200

This unit has custom sounds and animations. Please make sure to look over the READ ME file supplied in the .zip and the example XML.

If you have problems installing this unit, I highly recommend any of Rabbit,White's tutorials (in the tutorials section).

Is there a version without the gun as well? Also is there a kubelwagen with the gun as well as without? SAS jeep perhaps for WW2 scenario...
 
Yes, I think in my collection I have one I pinched from Classic Warbirds over Oshkosh which shows a .50 calibre machine gun being fired by an American GI in period dress. Simply a stunning photo...
 
I said it before :) It's real great unit. This machine gunner is outstanding job. I'm realy amazed :)
 
I've tried it, and it's great.

I'm not able to make the audio work. I've modified Audio3dScripts and AudioDefines, how you've specified in the text file. However, when playing the game, NO UNIT played any sound anymore. I removed those lines, and everything returned to normality.

I've not clear how xml works for setting audio.
The UnitInfo (in Civ4UnitInfos) refers the Art tag (in Civ4ArtDefines_Unit), which contains the AudioRunSounds (AudioRunTypeLoop and AudioRunTypeEnd). I haven't found any other reference to sounds. How can I link the sounds you added, to the new unit in Civ4UnitInfos file?
 
Also having trouble with the sound. Not clear on this, usually XML is pretty straight forward, but have nothing to go on here.
 
To repeat my message in this thread. If it can be done, we need a kubelwagen with a gun at the top. I was going to turn that into an industrial age explorer upgrade. Alternatively a good intermediate unit for cavalry to upgrade to...

I've got it set up so that explorers -> pathfinders -> cavalry -> armored scout In my mod. Works great, BST is still in alpha stage though, but yes, that upgrade path seems to be perfect. Also have the jeep as a UU replacement for the armored scout. Need to get the sounds working though, it looks kinda wierd now with tank sounds, lol.
