XIII's Far Eastern Historical Question of the Day

The Revolution?

Nope, the Korean War. ;)

Next question - What were the two most powerful states in the early Warring States period? The late period?

Hi, I am new here.

I think the answer is Qi and Jin for the early period, and Chu and Qin for the late period.

Yes, that's correct! :goodjob:

Welcome to CFC! :) I see you're fr Singapore too...

Next question - What was the significant happening in the year 1895, for East Asia?

The Treaty of Shimonoseki ended Korea’s tributary relationship with China. It also stipulated that China pay a costly indemnity to Japan, cede to the Japanese the island of Taiwan, open up several ports to foreign trade, and allow Japanese to build factories in China.

By making Korea a province of Japan.

No Korea was not yet a Japanese province. It is later annexed by Japan in 1910.

Also, a assassination attempt on Li Hong Chang made the Japanese reduce the terms of the treaty.

Under the Treaty, the southern portion of Fengtien (current Shenyang, Liaoning) province, the islands of Formosa(orcurrent Taiwan) and the Pescadores Islands had to be ceded to Japan.

However, the Triple Intervention of Russia, France and Germany made Japan withdrew its claim on the Fengtien province.

SuperBeaverInc and IATyco more or less got it right.

Actually, I'm thinking more along the lines of a war between China and Japan, with the Chinese losing. :)

Next question - What was the great export of Song China, which would be world-famous (even today)?

Basically blue and white porcelain.

That is it. I think the ones from Jing De Zhen is the specific answer. The town was formed and started to boom in the song dynasty.

Yep, Song blue and white porcelain, exported all the way out to even Africa...

Next question - This plant was fr the Americas; brought to Malaya, where it quickly grew into a major plantation industry during the British era. What plant is this?

Rubber seeds where smuggled out of Brazil by a Brit, and taken to Malaysia.

Yes, rubber, though I don't know about the smuggle bit...

Next question - Give 4 reasons why the state of Qin prevailed over its enemies.

Yes. The British smuggled some rubber seeds out of Brazil on a boat. They sent them to Malaysia, and planted them in rows. This made harvesting easier, as the rubber trees where in rows, compared to the natural growing rubber trees in Brazil.
