XML Load Failure

I couldn't find it. Even with hidden files and folders viewable and after searching the entire computer for 'installshield' nothing came up. There's no folder named 'Program Files'?

Ah, thank you! I was looking in the wrong area. Well that's embarassing...

I've deleted everything and still when I put in the bts disk there is no install option, only play.

It still sounds like the installshield Installation Information folder for BTS has not been deleted.

Check that you have deleted this folder:

C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{32E4F0D2-C135-475E-A841-1D59A0D22989}"

you must show hidden files and folders to see it.

one thing i did when trying to delete BTS from my system to do a reinstall (I'm not a computer expert either Zizon) was running a search (Start>Search) under Beyond Sword to see if I missed any files. BTS for some reason likes to spread the files out all over your pc. Hope this helps.

no but if you make a mistake you are quite capable of making it impossible to boot your computer - thats why I am hesitant to tell people to edit their windows registry if they do not know what they are doing.

Is the game listed as installed in the windows control panel -> software screen?

In 'Programs and Features' there is 'civilization 4'. When I try to uninstall it nothing happens.

get
ccleaner

click on tools
in the uninstall list locate the game
click on run uninstaller
if that doesn't work
click on delete entry

then restart the computer and see if it allows you to install, if not:
use ccleaner again, click on registry, click on scan for issues, you can then just click on fix selected issues and fix all - but it will prompt you to make a backup you should do that.
After that is done, restart again and see if it allows oyu to install now.
If it still doesn't I'd recommend to manually remove some entries from the registry. But note that I will likely not respond prior to Sunday night :)

I downloaded ccleaner and tried unistalling, deleting, then scanning and fixing and when I tried to run bts it still only had 'play' avaliable. So, on to registry?
