Here's a map of my current game as Elizabeth, settings are Prince/Epic/Archipelago:

At the moment I'm currently isolated, although there's probably another civ on that continent to the west. Everything looks okay, except there's a few issues I could use help in making decisions:

(1) I'm thinking of moving Blue Dot 1N and Green Dot 1NW, thus giving Green the wheat (and the option of working a gold mine) and Blue can work the Oasis. The downside is that Blue moves off the river, losing not only the fresh water bonus but also the possibility of building 3GD later. (Which could go in Yellow Dot, I suppose...)
(2) Hot Pink Dot is giving me fits -- the only way to work both the wheat & crab is to found a city ON the tundra copper. Moving the city 1W will allow me to work the copper, as well as losing the peak and picking up a few more land tiles, PLUS it will open up a channel, which is very handy. But is it worth giving up the crabs?? I can't decide!

Any suggestions?

Seafood is very valuable, I think I'd go for your current dotmap (esp. with elizabeth, since youll get more commerce/GP for your seafood tile). A channel isn't really über valuable since the arctic peninsula above is rather small.

The extra food is more valuable than the copper production in this case. I'd use london and the whip to get some units ASAP and then use another island to get production cities, but thats just me :)

Thanks for the advice. As it turned out, instead of being flat tundra, that copper was on a PLAINS HILL, so naturally I moved the city 1SW. No channel, but it'll be a nice production city in due time.

Turns out that island to the west was indeed inhabited...by Bismarck, Cyrus, Genghis Khan and Tokugawa. Needless to say, it's been a bloodbath so far.
