I'm wondering if anyone has tried mp with Gedemon's excellent YNAMP TSL maps.

Primarily interested in the Greatest Earth Map (the other maps are FAR too big which would be a problem having a game go less than 8+ hours, and also will limit players as the larger sizes will not run smoothly or at all on inferior machines) The Greatest Earth Map features upscaled Europe/UK, Japan; and downsized oceans between EurAfrica/ Americas and East Asia/ N America. I'm looking for image posts of these maps and will inquire in his thread if these are available.

Any issues? Balance problems with resources, starting locatons?
Also, I'm assuming everyone would have to have the mod enabled, or is it just the host?

Whew! For a moment there I thought you meant the main 180 x [smth] YnaEMP map... The slowdown would've been truly legendary, even with disabled barbs! :D

Iirc, I never liked the so-called 'Greatest Earth Map', because imo the realism of its landforms left a lot to be desired. However, it is still a world map and, for now, there are no other realistically-sized world maps available. I'll start an sp game tomorrow to get a look at the map; perhaps it's been improved or was better than what I remember (it was a *long* time ago when I took a look at it). I'd absolutely prefer a static map for our next Immersioneers game, and world maps are ofc my favorite (if only for the choice of civs that they can offer).

If we do go ahead with this, I'd suggest banning America and Brazil, though, because their vast continents without any human threats will mean that the players would have to be truly incompetent in order to not run away with the game (Brazil especially, with all that jungle!). Besides, it's more fun to have the Americas empty for everyone to colonize in the mid-to-late game. Hell, two players might even agree not to engage in warfare on the mainland, but rather delegate their trade-wars to their colonial companies. :goodjob:
