Have noticed the following since BNW came out, and it was NOT addressed in the fall patch. Mouse-over of the trade route icon says "You have 0 unassigned Cargo Ship" when there's clearly unassigned cargo ships. See below (click to enlarge):

This message is only supposed to show when there are unassigned cargo ships. The game correctly hides the message when this is the case, so the presence of this odd message is my cue that there are in fact unassigned cargo ships to look for, hence it's not a big deal.

This is highly reproducible for me, to the point where it happens all the time, every time. Observed across multiple games and leaders, and as mentioned earlier, patch revisions. Interestingly enough, the only time I saw this work correctly was when a caravan was also awaiting new orders. In that case the mouse-over correctly displayed that there was 1 unassigned cargo ship and 1 unassigned caravan.

I find it hard to believe that this hasn't been reported yet, but my searches came up empty.

does it still say 0 on the next turn if you end it's turn now without re-assigning it?

if so then they probably should make the trade route expiration logic check not for "0" but "1" (just an example, don't know how they actually check it), so it would show an unassigned one on the turn it can be reassigned.

Yes it does, so there's definitely something wrong here. I skipped a turn without reassigning the cargo ship, and the same behavior was observed.

Yes, it's probably something simple like this. I'll keep my eye out for two cargo ships to be unassigned and see if it says "1" or still "0." Either way, I'm sure a developer can take a quick peak and figure out why this number is offset.

Caravans seem to work correctly.
