Your Favourite Sci-Fi Quotes!

No Klingon pearls of wisdom yet?

How about "Today is a good day to die!"

Dr. Yoshi said:
"I find beer to be a refreshing substitute for food." Jack O'Neill, Stargate SG-1
Close, but not quite right. He offerered Hammond a beer. Jack said he only had Guinness, and that that was the subsitute for food. As any one who has drank guinness knows, it is thinker than some soups.

As for my quote, from my Favourite episode of SG1

Jack: "In the middle of my back swing!!!!"

Oh come on....

:waves hand: "These aren't the droids you're looking for."

*sigh*

"I AM YOUR FATHER!!!!!"

I know the last 3 films were poor, but that's no excuse to forget the originals!

Yet if my line should die
It dies with it's teeth in my enemy's throat.
It dies with it's name on my enemy's tongue.
For just as mere life is not victory
Mere death is not defeat.
And in the next world
I shall kill the foe a thousand times
Laughing
Undefeated.

Q: Q the miserable, Q the desperate! What must I do to convince you people?
Worf: Die.

"I don't know which of us he is these days, but they have a saying. If you don't live your own life, your will die the death of somebody else."

Alfred Bester - Fondly Fahrenheit.

(quoted from memory)

Read my signature. HK-47, from star wars: kotor.

HK is an assassin droid, while 3CPO is a childish protocol droid, Hk is a sadistic and homicidal.

"Conclusion: Still there was a brief moment where I felt like I almost understood why some meatbags choose peace and friendship over a high-powered blaster carbine."

D'oh! There was something about the quote that didn't seem right but I couldn't put my finger on it.

Anywho, next quote.

"We are the Borg. We will add your cultural and technological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile." - Pretty much every Star Trek episode featuring the Borg.

Any sufficiently advanced technology will be indistinguisable from magic. - Arthur C Clarke (in one of the odysseys, IIRC 3001 teh final odyssey)

And of course

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. - Borg

"In the streets of Hau-kai, we wait.
Night comes, winter descends,
The lights of the worlds grow cold.
And, in this three-hundredth year,
From the ascendancy of Bilat,
He will come who treads the dawn,
Tramples the sun beneath his feet,
And judges the souls of men.
He will stride across the rooftops,

And he will fire the engines of God."

- Jack McDevitt - The Engines of God

Another one I just remebered.

And perhaps the horse will learn to sing. - The mote in God's eye

"Worst case of testosterone poisoning I've ever seen." -- Ivanova, Babylon 5
