Okay, because I'm tired of seeing the same post over and over, here you go, Zouave, now you just need to refer to that thread in your posts, it'll make things faster and shorter.

Zouave's account of the terrible events that took place in one of his game :

"Last night I had NINE military units, my garrison, VANISH when a town of '1' flipped in the Ancient period, around 100 BC, thus ending a game in disgust. If I can't stop this crap I'm done with Civ 3."

Now please get your kleenex out and cry a bit while whining and walking aimlessly in your room with your arms up in the air challenging the ancient gods of bad luck and misfortune.

You are not only incapable of discussing the FACTS of an issue, you can only mock in a pathetic juvenile way while engaging in personal and childish attacks. Grow up.

Obviously, any load of garbage Firaxis hands you is OK to you. But not to me.

You are also in violation of the rules of the forum, and I've reported this thread.

The post you have made is not the best way to handle this issue, and I agree with Zouave's reporting of the thread.

Yes, I'm off-topic, and I would understant perfectly if this thread is closed.
However :
1. I have answered and discussed in previous topics your complaints about the fact of CF. Many times. You can check.
2. I'm not sure placating the same message over and over is in agreement with the rules of this forum. I wanted to point it out in an humorous way (that you don't like).

It happened to me too, with lots of culture. I rushed a colloseum, cathedral and a temple in a captured city with about 9 marines in it. Resistance has ended my advisor says, our cities culture extended my culture advisor says!
Yay! Now she will never flip.
Next turn it flips and I lost more than half my forces on that island.
I was really pissed that moment, but not very because I cheated anyway in a game that was already way above mandatory end year.

But I can imagine what Zouave felt when it happened to him in a real game he invested some time in, CF is a nice idea implemented way out of proportion.

Culture flipping is fine as it is. It only gets to be a problem if you are conquering a far away city, and if you are conquering a far off city then you probably have a huge, well off empire as it is. Try to think of the situation in the AI's place, and you will realize you aren't as bad off as you think.

I have only seen 1 or 2 flips per game since the recent patches. It just isn't the problem it used to be. You shouldn't be able to take out a size 12 city that easily, and culture should have more value. It's actually quite useless as it is.

The ratio of culture is the ratio of your civ's total culture to the other's total culture. The culture of the city and number of tiles in your city radius are factors, but not the key one.

A chance is a chance, 1 in 100 or 1 in 2 seem the same when the magic 1 comes up. Bad luck in the former case , to be expected in the latter.

This thread is really pathetic. I mean, there's the fanboys, telling everyone to stop whining, stop posting all these threads about stuff, etc. Now many of them are being hypocrites because I see these kinds of threads all the time. They are whining and posting a ton of threads about it. There's not many on the board at any time because they probably all get closed soon, as I think this thread will.

You gotta be proud of the people that have nothing better to do with their time than open threads that not only lack any point whatsoever, they are also likely to be closed within a few hours.

Just because you LIKE the game does not a person a "FANBOY."

CRITICISM of the game is ONE THING, constantly posting the SAME criticism is another thing entirely.

I think everyone should leave Zouave alone, he ain't hurting anyone. It's a free country people can complain if they want, besides, since everyone is complaining about Zouave's complaints can I complain about everyone complaining about Zouave's complaints?

Except these threads, which I saw several of in the past few days, repeat themselves over and over again on the same exact pointless sarcasms and do nothing but whine and criticize a member of the forum.

And I think if you asked him he would say that "the garbage game Firaxis gave us is the root of the problem." Anyway, I don't see how someone stating something that they believe in is the root of any problem. These threads are their own problems.

Moderator Action: Masquerouge, such threads are entirely unacceptable. No member deserves to have a thread dedicated to bashing/discussing them, and it is clearly prohibited in the forum rules. In part due to a recent rise in this kind of disrespectful posting - in addition to this - Masquerouge is given a 3 day ban.

Further threads as this will result in a similar ban. Please do not post them, or reply to them for that matter.
