I just want to say I completely agree re: Avenged Sevenfold. I've never understood why a merely adequate band gets so much attention.
I only mean it so far as the GOP actually does hate blacks, atheists, Muslims, etc., etc.

I see. I think the central points of our differences is that I'm a non-consequentialist Socialist. That is, my central reason for wanting social change is because capitalism is an immoral system that makes people behave immorally. It's virtually impossible to live in a first world country and not violate Just-Price-Theory all over the place. So for me the central question is if the present system is moral, how can one act in a moral fashion? And if everyone acted in a moral fashion, well, that would be social revolution.
On a more general, I think I've identified one of our, what I call in ideological history "Original Differences". These sort of actual disagreements about things that no amount of argument or evidence can settle, because they are so early in someone's thought pattern.
Would you say it's fair to describe you as a consequentialist socialist? That is, socialism is good so far as it is useful and actually helps people, and the best socialism is the on that does the most good for people? -
