I thought upgrading would mean less crashes to desktop, unfortunately I crash more often now (I also now get an error message and it changes my screen resolution to a much lower one so I have to reboot).

Anyone else get more crashes with the patch?

I used to get blue screens, but have not seen one yet. :dubious:

What i get now is a memory pointer error when i click on the minimap.

Sometimes the map gets corrupted (black rivers, etc.) when i bring up one of the advisor screens. If i toggle anti-aliasing to 2 and then back to zero, it usually clears up (though it takes a while) without have to restart the game.

Also, the voice capture and voice playback controls in the audio config tab do not stick, i.e., it never is saved.

here the computer locks up, and i end up having to reset it....
it didnt happened before the patch =\

I don't have much experience with v1.00 since I only really started playing after the patch.

The game hasn't out right crashed for me yet. It runs, but very slowly in some places. Especially when my turn begins and it zooms to part of the map to open a city improvements dialog there is very noticable slow down. Also when zooming across the map in general.

Sometimes randomly at the begining of a new turn all the dialogs will disappear and start flashing. This is fixed by alt-tab down to desktop then opening civ4 back up resetting it.

Also I've seen random graphic corruption in civpedia and advisor dialogs. This is not consistant, but instead comes and goes.

Its mainly the slow down that makes the game unplayable. I have a fairly decent system and I notice that the game is only using around 600mb of memory and ~90% CPU. System plays F.E.A.R. on high-med settings, so I dunno why I'm getting slow downs with Civ4.

ATI Raedon 9800 Pro 128 mb, 2.54 ghz p4, 1.5 gig of ram.

i got my first bluescreen yesterday, a few gameplay hours after installing the patch.
i have had one CTD in nearly a month of playing before, and no BSODs at all.

I too have experienced just as many CTD's in the laterstages of the game and I got my first BSOD last night. So dissapointing.

The new patch hasn't fixed anything for me.
