1.3!

Wait... So that means the release will coincide with my birthday...

Though my birthday is technically on Monday, but with me being in crazy future land (Also known as GMT+12 or NZ time) Monday my time is Sunday for most other folks.

No more hamsters on 1.3 ... :( I love tamed hamsters. What next? Flying pigs? Wrath of Hamster? Hamzilla? Hord of Hamsters? Hamster Civ... I guess it's a secret hamster civ, not playable, like merceneries or a hamster guild, providing extra food or automatically charming the enemy by pure sweetness, giving units the desire to hug and pet... and in Rife (or wm) I once had a werhamster. Loved it, made me laughing a lot.

Aw man, I'll be on a camping trip this coming up weekend. XD I'd ask if you could release it early (Potentially resulting in being able to play it on the several hour car trip there/back), but that's unlikely, and besides... More stable version = better version, and the only way for it to be early is to not be tested as much. So I DON'T ask that. Especially since I'll probably not notice the difference of a couple of days anyway. (Though I WILL be stalking the forums just in case it DOES happen. Like usual.)

Don't get your hopes to high up, or else you'll come back whining if we release it on mondy :P

Combat log isn't unit stats, it is a tab in the standard log that exists in BtS and is disabled by default in RifE for performance reasons.

Part of the same log that keeps track of event text, for example.

About that... Even if i don't enable "combat log option" there IS still a "combat log" tab in the log event, can you explain me that?

The 26th is my birthday... so whether it is released during the weekend or on Monday, I'm going to tell myself it's a gift anyway.

I'm really looking forward to the next patch. I stopped playing RiFE for a while... I got annoyed by some of the problems in the current edition (mostly animals killing my opponents before I had even met them). I can't wait to go back to playing it with the upcoming version.

Is "last feature" still the barbarian adjustment (I thought snarko did most of that-at least I thought a month ago the wait was for him to finish it), barb unit balancing, or 'one last thing' that you feel needs to be done now rather than a patch?

Not a complaint, just a request for clarity. It's sometimes unclear when you're being coy or if you forget that not everyone here has the whole context of the developers' discussions on #erebus and elsewhere.

the "last feature" is adding a x7 multiplier to all animal and barbarian spawns, and a 7 minute audio track of Valkrionn laughing on the (unskippable) defeat screen.

totally worth the wait.

Don't get your hopes too high, we may delay it a few days to test. All I meant to say was that the final changes should be in soon, with all that's left being testing and bug fixing. ;)

Definitely won't be earlier than Sunday. May be later.

He said "Enjoy them while you can" doesn't mean they are been taken out just that you will not enjoy them for much longer. THE EVIL HAMSTERS ARE COMING:crazyeye::crazyeye:

:mischief:

Like GreyFox said; The tab exists, but it doesn't log anything.

Animals will definitely be more balanced.

The part that Snarko had done, that I'd had to wait on, was to move lair exploration into the DLL. Didn't want to do anything to lairs on my end till that was done. Then I got distracted by other things (Mechanos, Mazatl, art, etc).

The changes we're doing now is the barb balancing. And we are NOT using the full system I outlined before, mostly because part of it would limit barbs (and animals) to spawning within their culture, which we decided would limit them too much. The best parts of that system have been kept, though, and luckily the part that was cut hadn't been implemented yet; No wasted time. All that's left at this point is xml work.

Could you elaborate on that point? I thought controlling barbarian spawns was the whole point. Do you mean "Low" ranking barbarians can spawn 'anywhere' or what? How much of the old system (the stacks of relatively weak barbarians spawning on our borders) will remain?

What I meant is we decided not to add barbs that could only spawn/move inside of barbarian borders. So you'll only have the strong Guardians (orcs only), and the weaker regular spawns.

All of the current system will remain, though there will be some neat changes to it. And no, won't go into any more detail, as we are at this moment still discussing the design.
