1000 Unrealistic things about the Civ Games

(in the anterior way) :

79) Civ4- The epic/mithological Gilgamesh of Uruk leads the hordes of the sumerian; but this time he has triumphed on his Quest to obtain the INMORTALITY!

Well, the first dynasty of Uruk, where Gilgamesh supposedly ruled, is at least quasi historical. They should have gone with someone later like Lugal-zage-si.

96) Only very few farms grow rice or wheat or corn. Most forms magically grow food without cultivating any major grain.

I suppose they grow some minor grain such as millet or rye. Or lentils.

97) All CIV Games: No matter how large you grow your city size, you cannot multi-task and build more than one building or unit at a time. Kind of like saying New York can only build a library, then a bank. Why can't larger cities multitask and work on more than one thing at a time?

We're never gonna get to 1000 are we?

Stop Complaining and help
98) CivALL - Every city in the world should have some type of military presence.

99) Even if it's the modern Era, apparently, burly men wearing loin cloths and wielding a club patrolling your cities are considered protection by the people. And they like it.

One of my pet peeves. They should at least change its looks - first to a medieval city guard, then to a militiaman, then to a Home Guard unit. The strength goes from 2 (city guard) to 3 (militiaman) to 4 (Home Guard).

100) Too many leaders are "quite pleased" and suggest "a jolly cup of tea". Quite generally, I want more messages custom-made for one single leader, as in Civ III, instead of too many of them of them being spread out among a lot of leaders. Shouldn't be that much work for the developers. Of course I don't mean that *every* message has to be personalized for only one leader.

101) The buildings in your cities move around...

102) Watermills look just the same in the modern age.

103) The mines, the plantations and so one are apparently worked by invisible gnomes.

Well, it kinda does. Get big gun. Fire big gun. Wall go bye-bye.

(91) The buttons saying emphasize whatever... There should just be a "work harder" button.
Show me a rifle that goes through a wall... from those times...

I agree that cannons, as units, should destroy walls... not just culture bonus...

104) Civ (Original Version) - Democracy doubles commerce on roads, and has no corruption!

105) Economics obsoletes Castles... shouldn't it be steel? or the invention of cannons?

106) The benefits given by most of the wonders of the world (we could really get closer to 1000 by going over these in detail!)

106a.) CivIV - The Pyramids unlocks every form of government.
106b.) CivIV - The Hagia Sophia makes workers build improvements faster.
106c.) CivIV - The Kremlin makes it less expensive to hurry production.
106d.) CivIV - The Statue of Zeus apparently halves your enemies' endurance for war.
106e.) CivIV - The United Nations is actually useful.

:p

Let's call those 107-111 so we can get to the goal!

112) The Spiral Minaret makes religious buildings produce more gold
113) The Internet is not helpful at all really
114) You can't rush the production of space ship parts, but you can build the Pyramids in one turn with a great eng
115) The hanging gardens bumps the population up in every city you own immediately
116) The Statue of Liberty works on one continent only, but the Eiffel Tower works everywhere in the world that you have a city, or build a city in the future
117) Astronomy obsoletes Monuments... yet monuments continue to be built in the real world to this day!

I'm sorry, Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

110.) Galleons can take many years to cross an ocean, even though the average trip across the Atlantic in reality during those days was about 6 months. Also, Magellan's crew's circumnavigation of the globe only took 6 years, whereas in the game it can easily take a century.

115) CivAll - People started to build roads while they are still nomadic

116) Mercantilism somehow improves the human stock so that more geniuses get born.

117) You can never parley with barbarians (might be fun)

118) CivAll - Every Civ talkks in one united lanquage

119) While most UN resolutions aren't completely binding, once Non-Proliferation is signed, you cannot construct nukes.
