The 2006 Memorial Cup is set to get underway in Moncton. Who's going to win it, in your opinion? Obviously, everybody knows that my hometown Giants will win, but I'm curious to see if people here dissent from reality.

I'm going to pick Moncton to win

You could have left the Mastercard part out. ;)

I'm pulling for the Québec Remparts to win. My decision is part homer and part Radulov-Roy combination. Alexander Radulov is a great player who will play on nashville's first line soon. Patrick Roy is an emotionnal coach and is fun to watch. So go Remparts!

Gilbert Brule plays for the Giants right?

I voted for Peterborough, purely for allegiance to my province. :)

Moncton Wildcats
Peterbourough Petes
Remparts de Québec
Vancouver Giants

The Remparts are in the final at 2-1. Whoever wins the tie-breaker between Vancouver-Peterbourough meets Moncton in the semis.

For junior hockey, I always root for the Q, so hopefully we see a Moncton-Québec final.

I don't really like any of them, so I am cheering for Moncton.

Go Ramparts !!!

they won the last game by the skin of their teeth!

Looks like you owe me a beer and a cigar, sys, the Petes were raped two games in a row by the Giants by a combined 9-2 score and are out! :king:

6-0 Large Ones over the Petes.

And yes, DeLormier, Gilbert Brule plays for the Vancouver Giants. He won WHL Playoffs MVP. I find it amusing how Patrick Roy keeps trying to psyche out every goalie his team plays agains before the game. He tried to do it to Dustin Slade, and Slade just responded that he looks forward to breaking Roy's NHL records. :goodjob:

Or they could just merge them.

Anywho, hopefully the Wildcats win it. Both my parents were born in the Maritimes, and I have a ton of family out there, so that is why I support them.

let Patrick Roy win this one .. hes good for the league ... more media coverage!

Moderator Action: Threads merged. Enjoy!

I'm sticking with the Remparts more than ever for tonight! :goodjob:
Patrick Roy is a loud mouth, but a smart one. He uses this to try to "psyche out" players or turn the attention away from other issues. He'll make for an interesting coach/gm in the NHL someday.

Gilbert Brulé will be a great NHLer! At least I hope so (I traded for him in my keeper pool at our last waiver day in march). He was the best forward in the tournament. What a wrist shot!!

Remparts won !!!!!!

GO QUEBEC CITY !!!!!!!!!!!

Québec 6 Moncton 2

in convincing fashion... somehow, I didn't think it was possible for me to think even less of Patrick Roy. What a nutbag...

Well Quebec city is going nuts over the cup!!!

The whole city is shut down to celebrate !!!
