Britain

What do you mean by Britain ?

Do you mean the Celtic Britain, before it was conquered by the Saxons ? Or do you mean England ?

Like many here, I will advocate for my culture.

I vote for the Celts, because I am from a Celtic culture, but also :

The Celtic territory by the time of Alexander the Great was almost as big as his empire (Although it was not unified under a single ruler) :
All the British Isle, all of modern Belgium and France (except Massalia and Corsica), all of modern Spain & Portugal, Southern Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and most of the Danube valley, close to Macedonia (homeland of Alexander) and some territory in modern Turkey (It was called Galatia).

The Celts burned Rome about -330 BC (don't remember the exact year I wasn't born yet ;) :D )

The Celts were the first Agricultural Civilsation in Western Europe, and the First to master Iron Working (Which they used to kick Roman's Ass until the Roman also learnerd Iron working by observing Gauls Smiths...)

The Celts conquered Delphi and it's Oracle.

The Celtic culture declined after that Golden Age but it's still very present, even if most countries are not independant. Only Ireland is free except for Northern Ireland which is ruled by English, Wales and Scotland also belong to the English crown. Brittany belongs to France, Galicia and Asturia belong to Spain.

Plus this is a realy cool Civ in C3C...

Although this poll, to me, is a little flawed -- I think it's kind of unfair that there's a whole bunch of new entries that didn't have to fight for survival in round one.

There are only 8 new entries in this round. They have an equal chance at relagation this round that the other civs did... the only unfair part is that they didn't compete against the 4 civs that made the cut last round.

If anything - the first 4 civs that made it had it easier because they didn't have to compete against these 8 new civs (and any other new civs in the next round).

Regardless - I will not be responding to any more complaints about how the poll is conducted since i have explained in clear english that the poll I wanted to conduct is limited by the polling system supported by the board.

I would love to see Israel included. It's weird they've never been in any previous installation, maybe it's controversial or something.

Norse (Vikings) are a must. :D

Babylon too.

Which LITTLE nation is squashed in?

All the Euros. Trash about half of them and it will be ok.

[insert eurasian propaganda]

Mayas, come on... What is that Yucatan peninsula? What have they discovered? Who have they conquered? Which leader have they given to the world? Why do you want them there?

Yeah, they were only the most technologically advanced civ in the world in many fields until much, much later.

What fields? (Serious question, I'd like to know more)

Mathematics and astronomy. I think. Among others.

Mathematics, astronomy, they also had a fascinating culture, one of the few Native American civs to invent a sophisticated writing system, stunning architecture, a fascinating civilization overall IMHO... But more to the point, they had such things like the concept of a number 0, which, trust me, is a very big thing in math.

yes....Israel

instead of a unique unit they have a unique resource - see my avatar

My 19 choices, ordered:
------------------the 3 main historical Civs----------------------
Chinese (-200 to 2005)
Indians (lost origins to 2005)
Romans (-700 to 1453)
-----------------enormous Civs in world terms-------------------
Spanish (specially in XVII)
English (sp. in XIX)
Portuguese (sp. in XV/XVI)
Arabs (sp. in VIII)
Mongols (sp. in XIII)
--------------------Other world history important Civs-----------
Japan
Russia
French
Greeks
Egyptians
Ottomans
Germany
Iroquois
Aztecs
----------------------Other Civs--------------------------------
Polynesians (for the fun and the world balance)
Americans (makers of the game)

Yeah, no Persians. who looses 1million warriors in a battle to a much lesser army doesn't deserve it :p
Byantines are RomansII.
All that middle east civs are grains of sand in the world map.
Sorry for Vikings and Hebrews...
Incas, Mayans and Dutch would be cool also, but 19 is a bit short for them.
Alexander the great, even if I didn't like the movie ( :vomit: ) was one of the greatest leaders of ALL TIMES. At least a enormous civ. Even without him it is still a really important civ. Maybe even replace India as one of three main civ. Or a fourth (for civ 4 ). And Rome was killed before, you are talking about Byzance, and looks like you know it, but don't talk of Byzance's fall as the end of Rome. Byzance had different role. And a civ hasn't to control half of the world to be important. And if you really think that Greek historians are absolutely accurate with persian army, you are stupid. They have to be in civ4, no question. And nobody talks about algonquines, they made French colonies (can we talk about real colonies?) survive 150 years!! There was nobody were is actually the most glorious civilization of all, Québec :). But everything else seems fair.

Forgot to say it in last post:
Vive le québec libre!!!!!
à l'attaque, Patriotes!!!!
Vive la St-Jean!!!
A mort, cris d'anglâ!!!!!!!!!!
:ar15: :ar15: :ar15: :ar15: :ar15: :ar15:
:nuke:
 Don't take it personnal, plz
btw, North king, for THE ultimate variant, in your signature, you forgot to make it a OCC too!!!!!

Didn't see the movie, but I don't need to ;)
I consider him the greatest, or at least one of the greatest conqueror of history (Temujin is sometimes disqualified due to his actions that made Hitler Santa Claus :santa: ). Still, he is represented: by the Greek Civ, from which he was the greatest military leader.
Byzance is the continuation of Roman Empire,as we know perfectly... They are one Civ.
Greeks were the only ones to leave registers of it, IIRC. My sources are based on them. I know perfectly they are biased, but calling me stupid is a bit harsh, isn't it?

Algonquines, I must be honest, have never come to my ears. What is that? Quebec patriots?!? Now, if Québec was a Civ, what about Minho?!? ;) Or the Aftertagians? :)

:) Better not to comment that kind of stuff...

On Alexander, one of the Greatest generals of all time, but in game he is consider Greek, and I don't consider that classification as wrong. After all, he leaded Greenks against their infamous enemies, the Persians...

On the others: somethings I accept, some others cost me to see.

Poly I put it there for fun, and to don't leave Australia without representation (Africa is by Egyptians).

To be honest, the list should include DUTCH and perhaps MALI, excluding POLYNESIA and GERMANY

Maya and Persia continue out for the said reasons. Not on top20, sorry.

That's incredibly subjective... Aztecs are importent, but the more advanced Inca and Maya are merely "Continental"?

Because picking the ideal Civ list is such a subjective decision...
... it should be dead simple to mod in new Civilizations. With no limits.

(I know a million people have said it. But just want to re-emphasize it.)

You seem to pay a lot of interest to that CIVs... Could you explain in some detail (not a testment) your reasons for that lines for the rest of us to know more about that ones?
Thx in advance.

What I want to see: NO (!) hardcoded limit for civilizations to add in mods.
It seems inevitable. I hope it is 64 or 128, not... 32.

Firaxis must remember I want then to add other Civs, not necessarily replaycing existing ones...

Yeah, Right.
So why is America a must?

Truth is you'd like to see some Civs in and your attitude towards the game is affected by that.

Germany should be in no doubts, I don't know about babylonias, mayas are great i like them better than the aztecs.
