Hi
Just thought I'd check here since I usually get quicker answers than at 2k.

I have been running this game since it came out and have had not problems until the last couple days.

I use an HDMI hookup to my monitor/tv combo and it now (in game) lists only up to 1920x1080 @ 59 hz instead of the usual 60 hz I use to get.

Has there been any recent patches been sent out via Steam? Has any one else had this happen?

I don't see the difference in the "hz" change but it might make some difference in the way things look when I move around the screen.

As 59 is not really that big a deal from 60 I guess I'm just being anal about it.

Any answers?

Thanks:lol:

No recent patches that I know of.

As long as it looks good and plays well, count your blessings. :)

Well it is working, and the looks are just fine for my old eyes.

The only thing that is different is there is a line that shows up at the top of the screen like old picture tube tv's when they were being video taped...:crazyeye:

I thought it was because of the 59 hz being below what the human eye can properly see, but maybe that is only to small a difference to notice.

Then again the fact that I had 60hz in the list of 1920x1080 res, up until now kinda makes me wonder why...

inquiring minds...:lol:

I'm having this same issue, it's flickering enough that it's a game breaking issue for me. :mad: Will post again if I find a fix...

I have finally had to reinstall Windows (dropping back from 10 to 7). and the game works fine now as long as I go online once in awhile (every couple days since the re-install)

Guess I did not really find a fix so much as a Big enough Hammer...;)

Hi there is a solution to your problem, I think.

"C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth\GraphicsSettings.ini"

Refresh Rate = 60

WindowResX = 1920

WindowResY = 1080

FullScreen = 1

StereoConvergenceMin = 0.000000

StereoConvergenceMax = 0.000000

StereoCursorOffset = 0.000000

ScreenShotWidth = 0

ScreenShotHeight = 0

Version = 1

; Refresh Rate
RefreshRate = 60

Notice that there are two refreshrate parameters to change to 60. Save and exit. Do not "apply resolution" ingame ever and it will remain at 60.
