2006/2007 College Basketball Thread

Wooh NC State!

UCLA is starting to feel the fire now, I'm looking for them to roll the rest of the way...

Oregon loses to USC again...

We avoided the letdown game, and now we're tied for first in the ACC. This next week will be pivotal, with 2 tough road rivalry games ahead.

Yeah, I gave up on them after they lost to the Cross. And they started so well...

These guys are nothing without me. Next year, when D-town makes his campus return...

UCLA-USC tonight! Kind of torn who to root for, UCLA is out there to give the Pac-10 respect, but it would be awesome for USC to represent to Pac-10 well in basketball too.

UNC-Duke also tonight, for the east coast buggers.

UNC - Dook much bigger game. If Dick Vitale's there, it's a big game.

Also, I'm gonna put the Over/Under # of Dick Vitale mentioning Football Signee Marvin Austin at 2.

UCLA, UNC win. For Duke, that's thier third straight loss at Cameron...

3rd straight they had a 10 pt + lead and blew in the final minute

Terrible, absolutely terrible refereeing that game. Good lord, I've seen blind refs do better than that. Hansbrough is being molested in the lane, and there is no call. I'm surprised they didn't add time to Duke too.

Anyways, it shows we can win even when we play like crap.

Unless its against NC State right? ;)

So nothing's happened in college basketball in the past two weeks, eh?

I've got a question then. What's going on with Alabama? I know they were thought of fairly highly early on before losing to Notre Dame, then they took a major hit once conference play started and they just royally screwed the pooch. But then the almost beat Florida and did beat Kentucky. Now they lost to Tennessee. I know they've had some trouble with injuries, but really, what's going on?

And keep in mind that I know nothing about basketball, so use small words . . .

Ronald Steele, thier best player, was slowed with nagging injuries and they just weren't good enough besides Steele I think. I dunno about thier tournament chances...probably a bubble team (right on the borderline).

I personally am rooting for Vanderbilt in that conference! Go 'Dores! :D

Can't wait for tomorrow's 1 versus 2 match-up. It's time to get some payback for the lose in early January.

Big 10 basketball. It's faantastic.

Yes, and no. In that it's overrated, maybe. In that it's a boring, brutish slugfest, no. More like Big 10 football in that respect (though this year was an exception).

ACC football has been WAY overrated. It was supposed to be the greatest conference ever when VT, Miami, and BC joined. This past season it was easily the worst of the Big 6.

I doubt anyone would make the claim that the Big 10 as a basketball conference is overrated, as it's a been a known quantity for quite some time. It's has some good teams at the top that can go deep in the tourney, but it lacks the top notch quality depth of middle-tier teams that the ACC or Big East conferences have.

Big 10 Basketball sucks. That was the worst 1 vs 2 match-up ever. I'd much rather watch my Heels lose to Maryland 89-87 in a back and forth game.
