2010 NFL Regular Season

How many helmet-to-helmet hits are the steelers going to be allowed before they get flagged for it?!?!?! How many browns players are going to get hurt? This is outrageous!

NBA time! Fire Wade!

Yea, it'll be interesting to see if Wade is fired by halftime or the second quarter.

Huge, Huge win for the Pats today. The offense looked good enough without Moss. It's nice to see long sustained drives that keep the D off the field, at least for part of the game. Branch had a great game and paid off on a ff gamble. The D looked good at times, stopping the Ravens on the ir last 4 possessions. Too bad Denver couldn't hold on to their late game lead and gave the Jets a free pass with a def pass int. The Phins beat the Pack in OT too, the AFC East is loaded this year.

Chargers lose to the Rams... That's just terrible. Great job Norv, way to preparing your team for an "inferior" opponent. How the hell does Wade Philips still have a job. More than 10 penalties again? Lose the turnover battle again? What was up with all those double rb flare passes on 3rd down? If you plan to dump it off against pressure on 3rd and long at least make it a screen so your hb doesn't have to split a safety and a corner for a first. They stop Favre and AP and still can't find a way to win, yet they're still only 2 games back in the division.

Every team in the NFC has at least 2 losses now. Everyone is alive, the Cowboys, the Niners, the Rams, the Cards. What a muddled conference. I guess that's parity.

Well, the Saints annihilated the Bucs. Am I really this excited about that result? What the hell is wrong with me?

True. But Merryweather better get a nice big fine from the NFL. That helmet-to-helmet hit on Todd Heap was downright scary. I was actually pretty amazed that Heap came back into the game after that...

And if the Pats meet the Ravens in the playoffs they'd better get Dan Koppen some help on Haloti Ngata. Just about every time the Ravens got a big defensive play it seemed that Ngata was right in the middle of it.

But Brady didn't really seem to miss Moss all that much. Maybe a bit in the first half, but in the second half and overtime the passing game worked just fine for the Pats.

Nice to see the strong defensive efforts from the Rams returning after that dud against the Lions. 7 sacks on Rivers lookes pretty good to me... :)

So, da Bears. Can we call them a fraud yet or do we have to wait until next week if the Skins manage to pull a win out of Shanahan's butt?

I hope they crush the Pack next week.

That will never happen. Right now, Green Bay has enough talent to go up by 10 points then lose on a last second field goal to anyone in the country.

:(

I declared them a fraud after the OL let the Giants destroy two of their QBs.

Packers have no run game. They got that second TD because half the defense wasnt even paying attention!

Well, the Broncos can't run the football at all , and rely only on a lucky Kyle Orton and his WR's to put some points on the board. I couldn't watch the game, was that really a def pass interference?

Well GB has zero run game, but then again, Minny's Cornerbacks suck right now so their pass game will work.

But if Minny's O-line can manage to not Epic Fail, I can see the Vikings with a solid win against the Pack.

I think the plan by that point was to let the Jets score with 70 seconds left so that the Broncos could march down the field and TD.

That hit by Merriweather was cheap and dangerous. It was just one of many head to heads this weekend. Rodney Harrison was saying prior to the Colts game that all players put away 50k before the season just to pay for fines. It makes sense that the NFL should look to suspend players for intentional head to head hits. Meriweather is from The U and a protege of Harrison. I like him as a playmaker but he is a dirty player and I would agree he should ne suspended for bush league shots like he laid on Heap.

Regarding the Pats OLine they are without Nick Kazcur for the season but it looks like Logan Mankins will end his holdout to get credit for playing in 2010. Adding Pro Bowler Mankins will really help the interior of the line. I think Vollmer and Light are good tackles and they don't need help there. Also on a couple plays that Ngata was untouched it looked like Woodhead was supposed to help inside but blocked outside.

I'm not really sure. I only saw the replays, it looked like the receiver fell down on his own, but Sanchez delivered the ball in the numbers of the player sitting on the ground and the defender facemasked him. Calling def pass int in the endzone with less than a minute on that play is kinda iffy, the facemask would be 15 but not the 33 and ball on the goalline.

Favre still hasn't shown he still can lead his team to a W. He almost did it last Monday but he was terrible yesterday against the Cowboys. The Packers would probably have trouble running against the Vikings even if Grant weren't injured, but they have a great passing game and a good defense.

It looks like the matchups favor the Packers, that is unless Favre suddenly stops sucking.

He wasn't terrible. Not brilliant in any way, but not terrible. Still over 100 QB rating this week. 14/19, 1 TD, no ints, 1 fumble. He looked shaky this week but he wasn't all that horrible. There were way too many leaks in the O-line at the start of the game. They got a bunch of easy hits on him early.
The O-line was pretty good last year, why are they so crappy this year?

This being the O-line that let Favre get knocked around almost every down in last year's NFC title game?
