2013-2014 NBA Season

I like this thought. Wade now is not the same Wade last season. He was a consistent threat to go to the basket but now...

Btw, how old is Wade?

32, drafted the same year as LBJ and Melo (and Bosh)

Bosh, LBJ, and Melo all have the same mileage and they're doing fine. It's the age.

Well, maybe more mileage if you consider Wade played college as well. Then again, age and mileage become rather the same thing in that case, don't they?

Then again then again: look at all the minutes Lebron's been putting in over the last 2 years.

Wade takes more contact on a smaller frame than the rest of those guys by a pretty big margin...guess that isn't mileage exactly...maybe number of wrecks! He's more or less totaled at this point I think, but off the bench he could be a force for a couple more seasons. Him coming in fresh against either tired starters or the other team's bench players would put some tread on his tires.

Wade has played significantly less games and minutes than the others. So he actually has less mileage.

Even without surgery, the wear and tear factor will eventually get your knees (See Garnett, Kevin).

We'll know literally in the next couple of days whether or not the Heat will steamroll to the NBA Finals again. If Wade opts in for the 21 million, I will find it very hard to believe that either Bosh and James will even bother to stay, or they would opt in as well (Not a good idea since it means cheap labor on the bench). If all three opt out, then 99.99% chance that the Miami Heat come back next year with a much stronger team.
