LordRahl said:Threre's NO room for superstition in the science class
Fox Mccloud said:Religion is not superstition. It's a possibility. There is a possibility that God created the world, why do you want to keep people from learning all possibilities? No one knows for sure if God created everything, so why do you want that posibility censored?
Yeah, I guess you want a world where people are only allowed to agree with you, and can't accept any other possibility.....
LordRahl said:For the same reason I don't want to teach people about the possiblity that the world was created by Unicorns...
Science class is about teaching facts, not Fairy Tales. If someone proves God's existence, then by all means - teach it in the science class, otherwise keep your Unicorn stories in church - where they belong...

Not wanting religion taught in science lessons is anti-religious?Fox Mccloud said:Truth is, even though Evolution may have some evidence, we should teach inteligent design because WE DON"T KNOW HOW EVERYTHING WAS CEATED! It should be taught as a theory, and anyone who says inteligent design should'nt be taught as a theory is just anti-religious, and doesn't want religion to get to the people.
So you are okay with teaching about the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or that we were all created out of magic goo?We need to keep an open mind to ALL posibilities , people!
It's not a theory.Good, then teach inteligent design as a theory.
Fox Mccloud said:Then keep your stupid 'explosion out of nowhere that somehow created the universe fairy tales' out of science class. We don't exaclty have much proof of that either, yet it's taught, so why not teach my 'Fairy Tales'?

LordRahl said:Oh, there's plenty of evidence that our universe started with an explosion:
-it explains why galaxies keep drifting away at incredible speeds,
-it also predicted the existence of background radiation, which was later verified by Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson (who got nobel prizes for that)
True - the Big Bang Theory it was never proved, but that's why it's called a theory.
Can you provide any compelling evidence for existence of God? Any prediction which can be scientifically verified? Can you set up an experiment which would further your claim? Or can you simply accept that there is no need for God in order to explain the Universe as we know it...
I bet he/she refer the student to your KO Creationism thread.Perfection said:My high school biology teacher on creationism. "We're now getting into the section on evolution, we don't have time for creationism, which is not considered a part of biology. I'm not gonna make you believe in evolution, I'm just gonna make you learn it. If you have any problems with it, talk to me after class"
Fox Mccloud said:There are plenty of other theories that people can come up for that in 5 minuetes, why not just believe those?
Because they are either more complex or don't actually explain the data. Or they aren't scientific.Fox Mccloud said:There are plenty of other theories that people can come up for that in 5 minuetes, why not just believe those?
Not to nitpick, but the Big Bang didn't make everything, it was just the start. During the entity of the Big Bang, no energy was created nor destroyedFox Mccloud said:If your willing to believe that some explosion came out of no where, and made everything,
No, we have observable evidence and testible predictions that have borne out. You don't.Fox Mccloud said:why not God? Why do you want to believe your theories, but call all ours 'fairy tales'? Doesn't that make you hypocrites?![]()
Well, she would've, but I actually started the thread after I took the course.Babbler said:I bet he/she refer the student to your KO Creationism thread.![]()
