An ancient wish of Yoda.:egypt:

Prince Henry's Navigation School,
perfect for better naval abilities etc. in Middle Ages. School was located in Sagres, Portugal and was a small fort by the sea, with few buildings and a great compass on ground. In there expert navigators, map makers and seafarers taught and improved the art of seafaring. It is said that this launched the age of expedition.

Modern historians will say, on the other hand, that Prince Henry was an evil man, imperialist and slave master. Well, rulers at the time often were so no surprise there, you sensation-hungry historians!

Here's how it looks like:

Notice the rocky cliff! :)

Have fun,

A beauty. :goodjob: I really like your drawing style - your stuff has so much more character than the conservative Civ3 buildings and the conversions from other games.

Ukas; what do you use to make these? What's your technique? Copy-paste? Or do you simply use your mouse to draw them, or a wacom tablet?

Usually I just draw them. Most of the pic is done by photoshop paint tool, size one pixel. Rarely I copy and paste row of windows or something like that from another pic. I have to paint over if I do since cuts don't usually fit. I have a wacom tablet, but I don't use it to make civ icons. There are few icons, like Roman forum and bath which were painted over of an existing cut. Usually I just look couple of pics as models and then draw freely.

I've always liked to do "miniature" stuff, mainly because I liked to draw comics as a kid. Comics were about war, and I usually paid attention to details in uniforms and guns and such. I did draw a lot at the time, even so much my parents had difficulties to buy pencils and paper. So I had keep the size of the comic boxes small.

@Ukas: Aaaah, thanks. I have a Wacom tablet too, but I rarely use it for civ purposes. The talent should be coming from your love of miniature, then. That's what I understood :)

Yes! Yes! YES!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. :goodjob:

Now to wait for that splash....
