A Babylon 5 Mod for the Final Frontier Mod

Until I saw the fighters, it looked like a modified Zenetian Junk from Farscape. Nice units.

As I was unsuccessfull with animation I decided to leave that for later, and since no animation will take place for the moment I thought I could do the Omega, so here it is.

I rotated the... rotating section :mischief: a little bit to give the impression of rotation. The Omega uses the FF Cruiser animations and has 1232 polys.

This time I'm trying a different hosting for the images, so let me know if there is something wrong.

Its time for another ship not seen in the series (but also approved by JMS (I think)), the Centauri Republic Octurion Class Battleship.

It has 1308 polys and uses the Custom Destroyer Animation.

This ship was made with poor image references, but I think it turned out pretty good, it was also good practice, for other ships have even poorer references.

It's a shame you can't resolve the animation issue but it's still a great model.

Yeah, I like the model:), but I can't help but to feel some sort of frustration when I see it :(.

Like always, a great and distinct ship :).

Thanks to you both, it is good to know that even being a half successful ship it has some appeal.

I had some extra time today, so I devoted it to my favourite B5 ship, allow me to introduce Earth's mightyest ship:

The Warlock Class Destroyer!

It uses a modified FF Cruiser animation, the Warlock fires first a round of pulse weaponry, followed by two laser beams, and finaly fires the particle gun!.

With its 1489 polys it is barely within acceptable range.

Very nice ship, I think the Terran Empire in my mod just found its Star-Class battleship.

How hard would it be to update the Nova skin to be as bright as this one? Its the only one where its hard to see the details. Your skinning has been improving, the ship feels textured.

It would mean a total remake of the Nova's texture, but it isn't that hard, I'm already considering remaking the Hyperion, Olympus, Nova and Omega textures to meet the Warlock standard, and also perhaps the Centauri ships, however I make no assurances on the release date for such new skins.

However if you require that skin (Nova's) ASAP I could do it and release it alongside the next ship pack.

It has 1038 triangles and uses the FF destroyer animation. No engine thrust only glow.

For this ship I had even poorer references than those of the Octurion.

I tried to follow the Warlock standard for the texture, what do you think of it?
 
It's another of the many needed ships you've done there. This is great work Premier. So far i've still got a working mod with all the XML changes i've done. Did some Python changes last night but haven't tested the mod for stability yet. Have to get some studying done today so may not get any testing done until the w/e.

Yes, it was a total remake of the texture, but it was even easier than I expected (tho other textures will shurely be more complicated... or not? :think: )

In game it has more quality than in the previous screenshot, but its good enough for the change to be noticed.

So, next ship pack will feature:
-EA Omega Class Destroyer
-EA Warlock Class Destroyer
-Narn Bin'Tak Class Dreadnought
-Raider Carrier
-Centauri Octurion Class Battleship
-Centauri Dargan Class Cruiser

All of these are ready, do you want them released this weekend?, or do you want the textures of the first ones (of this pack) to be upgraded to the Warlock standard?

TBH, i'm easy either way, whichever you want to do is fine by me. I'll just be happy to finally have some more Babylon 5 ships in the mod instead of FF or Homeworld ships.:lol:

How does this affect the ship pack?

The Raider Carrier NIF contains the Carrier model and two fighter models, I was thinking on providing a second NIF containing only the Carrier, but, as far as I'm aware of, the Raider Carrier has no weapons of its own, I made a test, and the carrier was immediately destroyed,... what do you think of this?

I'll dig out the episode of B5 that has the raider carrier on it, i'm fairly sure it didn't show any defensive weaponry on it so it may well be as vulnerable in combat as a colony ship.

attached an omega with rotating rotating unit (because i wasn´t really sure which was correct in the show, there is a clockwise and a counter clockwise nif)
