A Brave New World Part 2

Oh...um...this is embarrassing. I've been thinking it's North American Treaty Organization for quite some time. Damn lucky they didn't ask that question on the AP American test. Might not have walked away with a 5 (I'm still celebrating about that :)). Oh well. They both spell NATO.

Got a 4 on AP Euro :) Was expecting worse.

never took any AP tests :/

got a 23 on act and filled out C for like 2 rows lol i cant take tests with out getting bored and massive A.D.D. doesnt help that i had to drive 2 hours to take it and on top of that was at a party the night before oh well.
Then again never studied in high school and would still pass classes with A's and B's.

A Brave New WOrld 2 is about to become A Brave New World 2.1! Within the next few hours we are going to have dramatic ruleset changes as well as some stat adjustments. This is a great change to the NES, and for the full discussion, please see this thread:

Revised stats have been done and the front page is still being upgraded. Take a look at the new stats if you care to.

Not bad. The Spoilers to keep the stats you don't want to see hidden make for a better game experience, for you don't have to go through all nations' stats till you find yours.

Just one question: the EP generated from the colonies is set apart from the EP shown in the stats or the latter is the result of the metropoli EP plus the colonies EP?

THe EP of the colonies is included in the overall EP at the top as is manpower. To that note, the rules on the first page have been updated, quite a lot has changed. The tech post is next up, and I'll be providing detailed stats on existing models of weapons for your amusement.

I think I like this new system.

EQ, I may be resurfacing at a time soon approaching, and are there any nations you would recommend?

OOC: I do quite like these new rules. Will make the next few turns quite interesting and will be interesting to see designs come through.

Also although they technically aren't colonies I wouldn't be against including the separate communes and republic of the UCNA. Just give them different names or something if you want. This will allow me follow the development of each region as well as stability. :)

OOC: You realize of course when the USS- er, UCNA collapses that makes those parts more liable to break away in ungrateful disdain for the Motherland? Such manners, those of the Soviets.

OOC: That's why I said they shouldn't called Colonies but instead something like Communes or Socialist Republics. I think I may have mistyped what I meant as well I don't want a breakdown of each Commune as in the Mexican City Commune, Commune of California etc but just the Lakotan and Nez Perce. That way I can track economic growth in each region and refocus projects accordingly. :)

I shall be taking Persia, if nobody of worth objects to said actions...

I have a question regarding the technologies. How are we going to know when we get a technology? Also, methinks that each nation should be given back the money that we had spent in technologies and that now, suddenly, we have found to be worthless with this change of gears in the tech investigation.

EDIT: Stability should have also been changed. I think that, now that the stability of the colonies has been separated, the stability of the metropolis should also change, because I doubt that, for example, the stability at Denmark proper is 6 when the causes of said stability drop are in Nijeria and Iceland (bunch of ungrateful people that want to be independent, you know). 8 would probably be a better thing.

the new system still requires investment, no refund is necessary just need to alter this turns orders/plans

to: HMS Vanguard

i Know i am not on the bord as Persia but i reserved it like last week right now i am just whating to take it over after i finish the war i am in. i would already be persia but i didnt want to be a ass and just quit when my chips were down.

OOC: I leave for two days on vacation and I return to find North America plunged into choas. :(

@Milarqui: see above, also you may note that some nations already have money put into a field thanks to spending that had not quite yet been completed.

@Andy69in: I'm sorry, I thought you had reserved Kurdistan for some reason. That is 100% my fault for recommending Persia for HMS Vanguard.

Is the republican faction in Canada the orange colored country or the grey one by the great lakes? Both the nationalists and the republicans have their capital listed as Toronto in the stats.

I know, that's because they both recognize Toronto as their capitol. The Republicans are the ones which were original Canadian color sandwiched in between everyone else.

Design stats have been put up on the first page for standing designs out at the moment, please take a look. Also I have moved the update back to Friday evening to give people time to read and adjust to the new rules.

OOC: If a design is made by nation A and shared to nation B, but later the design is retired by nation A to make space for a new design and doesn't share that design with nation B, does nation B lose the ability to make the design or do they also lose it?

I think this would translate to: If a nation receives a design does it count as part of their design pool or is it just a product they can purchase? (ie: Georgia creates a Death Star design and Tennessee "purchases" Death Stars from Georgia factories vs. Georgia sends Death Star design plans to Tennessee factories to make their own).
