A Brave New World Part 3

To Austria, Venezuela and Italy from New Holland

Yes, thank you. Austria's involvement has been noted as 50,000 Christians and 50,000 Unspecified.
Thank you Venezuela, we've put you down for 50,000 Christians and 50,000 Unspecified.
Thank you Italy, we've put you down for the remainder of Protestant refugees, the number being 750,000. We hope this is not too much and understand if it is.

0.15 million (of 1.50 million) Buddhists - China

0.25 million (of 0.30 million) Sectarian Muslims - Rashid Arabia
0.05 million (of 0.30 million) Sectarian Muslims - South Africa

To EQ: I'm pretty sure TLK sent orders for New Zeeland to join in the war effort last round EQ? I don't mind taking casualties (very much) instead of my little brother Zeeland, but did he forget or was it left out?

If absolutely no where else will take the remaining Buddhists than China will. We request one of our major allies to do so though. Kyushu, we're looking at you.

Italy will accommodate as we must though we feel we must lower the number to 300k. We are not the largest nation after all.

"Damn the French!"

Sears was in a rant again, howling at the top of his voice and tossing things around the room for dramatic effect.
His secretary could do little more than sit awkwardly until it ended.

"Thinking they can dictate control over the globe.."
"Whatever they may be saying, their actions in the South-East Asian and African theatres proves just one simple thing:
They want peace around the world.
..."
Nancy was about to interject here, but was cut off.

"Great, you may say, but it's not just any old peace.
It's French peace.
They stick their oar in on the side of Korean and New Englander despots, yet accuse civilised nations such as the Nijerians or Japanese of war-mongering..
You want to know why?
...
They're afraid.
Afraid they'll lose too much influence in a New World Order.
So they try to keep the status quo.
And when they can't, they allow only dictators and murderers to power!"
An awkward silence descended, as Nancy was unwilling to meet his eyes during the ongoing rage.

"Because they know they'll be so grateful that they won't dare threaten French interests.
And if they do, the despots are insane enough that the French believe they'll be able to use the very moderate nations they've spent so long spiteing against their problem!"
He screamed, spittle flecking from his mouth.

"They think we'll be their puppets, and dance to their tune for the rest of time.
Cowering down to their every demand.
Well, i'm not waiting for the French to turn their guns on us.
The longer we wait, the more countries they petrify into submission.
We need to send them this message, that we shall not stand for their actions, AND WE NEED TO SEND THAT MESSAGE NOW!"

With that last line of vitriolic, his body finally emptied itself of it's pent-up fury and he collapsed into his armchair, exhausted.

Nancy turned to leave, but just as she felt the door knob, a rasping voice called out to her.
"Wait!
...

Expel all French diplomats from our soil."

She could see how pale and drawn his face had become, and instinctively knew he meant it.

She tried for the door once more, but he hoarsely offered:
"Nancy!
...
Here's 35 Zar..
Go get yourself something nice.
...
I'm sorry I have to put all this on you."

As she finally left, cash in hand, she managed a mournful smile.
It was a terrible burden, seeing how the world had become.

But, if she had to, she'd follow Sears to the ends of the earth.

Upon seeing French tyranny around the globe in the Frankish attempts to intimidate multiple sovereign nations for their work against despotism and war-mongering, South Africa hereby expels all French diplomats from South African soil and closes the South African embassies in France (and all French territories) until French foreign policy is once more acceptable for a nation of its stature, rather than a band of petty thugs.

Under order of

George Sears,
PoSA.

If anyone's inclined to help I'd like to play something out of the way while I'm still learning how to wargame with politics.
Alaska, Ireland, New Zealand or Norway would be nice... if any of these are available? I've checked the lists on page 1 but it seems people are swapping nations and joining or leaving a lot so I don't want to get ahead of myself.
I'll take suggestions.

Thanks. I'd just send PMs but the stupid forum rules won't let me have them yet.

Iraq and Poland look tempting but I think they might be invaded...
Ireland would be a nice base to expand from, but they're kinda poor and hard to defend once someone penetrates into the interior valley. I guess Norway or New Zealand might get overwhelmed by their big neighbors, but they've got a lot more money and defensible terrain.

Thanks, but it has big neighbors, gigatons of oil and desert terrain... I suppose I could sell out a bit for unilateral guarantees from the superpowers. If it doesn't have anyone I might take it.

There are lots of South American nations free :)

5 posts & 5 days to PM (i've just asked the mods if they can do it for you now though :))

TLK (New Zeeland, not Zealand) has just left NZ for Texas if you decide on it.
I'm playing as New Holland (Australia) and have guaranteed the indepence of NZ.

Just don't go commie and I'll leave you alone. (I even have an indefinite 1EP aid budget to New Zeeland.)
You might also have noticed the Zeelanders just killed 90% of the Maoris for Lebensraum in the backstory without New Holland reacting, but I'm taking a harsher line on genocide in the neighborhood (I prefer deportations).

Welcome to NESing.

To Italy from New Holland
Of course. We've corrected the numbers.

 what a nonsense, NZ is one of the least populated area's in the developed world. A nonsense to claim Lebensraum!

^^ yeah, they did get along well with the settlers OTL. The background said they took in a lot of Moroccans and some other Africans though (Algerians maybe), but it seems a bit extreme. Maybe the French soldiers rubbed off on them after they stabbed France in the back.[/OOC]

OK. I guess I'll go with New Zeeland. I kinda like genocide but forcing my enemies onto cramped refugee boats with no destination is almost as fun... :D

Just remember the aid and your size doesn't mean I'll let you boss me around without consequences.

You have a very beneficial peace treaty with the Maori so I don't think that's a problem.

... bleh.

Guess I'll have to find a small African nation to bully when I decide to test my military.

OK. Thanks for the help everyone!

To the World from New Holland

Please remember to specify to your beurocrats the number of refugees you will receive.

!Note! Please provide shipping for your own refugees if at all possible. While we are very thankful for your generosity New Holland will have little excess transport and beurocratic capacity other than organizing the Pancasilan diaspora on the current meta-level. We will provide excess shipping capacity up to a point for those transports that are for any reason unable to show up, but we must keep an adequate number in reserve to protect New Holland's export-based economy and stability lest our 2 million refugees be fed and not lynched by raging mobs of jobless rioters.
