In what seems like centuries ago, I was heavily engaged in IRC as a form of electronic social contact, as well as some computer tech chat/forum sites, where everyone talked geeky stuff. I never involved myself in chat rooms per se, like on Yahoo Chat or the like, but IRC suited just fine. Now, I fear, that most of my "online chatting" seems to revolve around forum sites for my favorite games, including this one. Suffice to say that I now seem to know persons on these forums better than I know some people in real life. The worst thing is that I work in the IT field...

All I can think about this revelation is, "Does this copy of Civ3 Conquest from Amazon.com that just arrived in the mail make me look pathetic?"

What is worse, if that is possible, is that I will check forum site that I frequent to check my private messages sometimes more than my regular email....
