A kitten in your backyard.

i don't see many guys picking up chicks by walking his cat around now, do i?

becoz its difficult to walk a cat anyway. But its cool to hold one in the arms.

I would give the cat to the nearest animal shelter, so they can deal with it. If they can't, the nearest Chinese restaurant sounds like a good place to put your cat.. I mean, they must love having pet cats around... right!?

:joke: I'm not that sick to give a cat to a restaurant. Besides, there's a long process to turning a cat to food, and it isn't as simple as putting it in an oven and cooking it.
Now really, I'd give it to an animal shelter as soon as I could...
That'd be the right thing to do, let some other guy who can take care of it take care of it, the kitten has no place around my cats....

This is not a hypothetical for us, it's happened once already while we've lived here (although it was my girlfriend's workplace's backyard). What we do is take in the kitten as a houseguest (we have three cats and that's already one too many, but they're fairly tolerant if not accepting), try to find out if it has a home or not, take it to the vet and get it fixed, and then let it live with us until a spot opens up at one of the local no-kill shelters.

1) What do you do?

KILL IT!

2) Do you think it's the right thing to do?

YES!

Nah, I would probaly take it somewhere and give it a good home

If it has a collar, I'll return it to it's owner. If it's a stray, I'll leave it be 'cos it's not my problem.

It should be removed from the world. The numbers of feral domesticated animals is at extremely high levels and if causing untold damage to indigenous wild life ecosystems. It may sound cruel to say " kill the cat" but that same cat could very well push an obscure field mouse type to or near extinction. upsetting an ecosystem by the ripple effect.

I agree with the above 100%.

I also hate cats.
I hate the population of those predators as a whole - out of purely rational reasons. I understand why people feel attached to cats, I have felt so myself. Still, it would be important that people give up this selfish business. So my answer is:

1.Kill it quick!
2. I'd be proud of myself for doing so. If I don't get caught, of course. Also, it would be best if the cat suffered as little as possible when being put to death.

1. Ignore it, it'll either go away or die
2. Yeh

What he said. I'm not going to waste my time on it. I might ask any neighbours I run into if they've lost one, or I might remove it and put it out front, where someone else can take it away.
Either way, I'll mostly ignore it. Cats are vicious creatures good for nothing except keeping mad old biddies off the juice.

Something like this for the first ten minutes, I'd presume:

After that I don't really know. I'd probably leave it as it is, as I would just think it to be one of the cats that live around here. If it did come into my care, then I would probably do the same as Augurey suggested earlier.

Right here, taillesskaugaru, right here! I've been reading the ancient tomes all night to ensure I get the words and frame of mind just right. I want to be sure those fleas from the camels infest the right armpits.

Adopt it...like we've done about 5 times now. If it somehow gets to our backyard, which is a hell in its own right, it deserves a freakin medal of courage! Not to mention the mile or so of field it has to get through and the coyotes that could get it before it even reaches my backyard.

A kitten found its way to your backyard and it hangs around and won't leave. You're not sure if it have an owner or if it's a stray.

1) What do you do?
2) Do you think it's the right thing to do?
1. Open the door to let my dog out
2. Yes, it's bound to belong to someone nearby

Eh, I've got this friend that runs a Chinese food joint... loves cats, alway asks me to bring him any strays I find. He must have a couple hundred by now

Do you ever see these cats again after you deliver them?

I'd check the food carefully next time i'm there if i where you.

If I wasn't allergic I would go through Augury's process of attempting to keep it. However, I am allergic, so I would probably just take it to the humane society.
