A study of atheism worldwide

An ateist buddhist either is just a buddhist or just an atheist.

Now that is just silly. We have gotten so used to using "atheist" and "non-religious", or "theist" and "religious", as synonyms that we have forgotten they aren't.

Seems to me that Swedishguy believes that a Buddhist cant be an atheist because he thinks atheism should be pure and free from religion. :p

Well that settles that . . .

I'd like to think so.

As you can see Atheist and Christian are mutually exclusive. This doesn't mean that other religions will be as well - but it does explain why some Christians take the simplistic approach and view atheism as "non-religious". Of course, it is only "Non-Christian".

To be fair Christians apparently weren't the only ones identifying "atheist" with "non-religious". But yes, some religions can support atheism and some can't.

Although I think the next patch for Christianity will enable it.

Atheists are going to hell, thats all that needs to be said. Accept Jesus Christ as your savior and you will be saved on Judgement Day.

You forgot the part where Judgement Day never comes, so it never will matter.

If judgement day never comes then you burn in hell for eternity upon your death. Judgement Day comes as a last chance for those in hell and those on Earth to repent before Christ.

I think you removed any doubts that you were sarcastic :(

What exactly is the goal of such comments? Are you trying to scare people into becoming Christians?

I'm not being sarcastic, God loves you but you will languish an eternity in hell if you do not accept him as your lord and savior on Judgement Day.

So again, are you trying to scare me into becoming a Christian? Should the reason why I become a Christian be that I want to avoid Hell?

EDIT: Oh and BTW, if God comes to me on Judgement Day and ask me to accept him as his lord and savior or burn in Hell, you bet I will accept him.

I'm not trying to scare you, just stateing a fact. Also God doesn't necessarily come to you on Judgement Day. Judgement Day comes as like a cataclysmic event, like all the nuclear weapons in the world being launched and going off all at once. Everyone would die, and on that day you would need to accept Christ as your savior.
