Afforess's Modmods

First, let me start with: I love your modmod. I am using Afforess's Addons 1.351 and RoM 2.71.

I am unable to build the Parthenon. I have the requisite Techs and my civilization's religion is in the city but I am not even getting a grayed out Pantheon showing. Does anyone know if this is a known issue with Afforess's modmod or RoM?

You need Hellenism in the city to build it.

Hellenism is in the city- but this leads to the question: should that be part of the description? Bug report for RoM. :)
I am pretty sure that no one else has built this Great Wonder yet as I am the one that discovered the tech and founded Hellenism.

This is no bug. If you check the Civilopedia entry for the Parthenon, it says it requires Hellenism. Also, it says that you need it to be your STATE religion, and the state religion must be in all of your cities.

You are correct about it needing Hellenism- i guess the confusion for me is that I thought it just meant that I needed the religion in my empire somewhere- not as my state religion. FYI: you don't need hellenism in all cities.

BTW, does the Parthenon still generate the bonuses if I can state religions after completing it? I have never built a religion specific structure before (besides temples and monistaries).

Thanks for the help!

Noted. The civilopedia text is a bit vague, granted.

I believe so, until it becomes obsolete. I think it's the way buildings were coded in the SDK that allows for that.

I rewrote my OP, see if you guys like the changes.

I do like them. Not to be nitpick-y, but there is one sentence that seems a little odd to me:

In fact, some of my modmod's have extra features that only if you play with other modmod's, like the Advanced Nuke Mod.

The grammar seems a little off. Perhaps you meant something like "that are only necessary if you play with other modmods"?

Another nitpick: plurals of words in English do not use apostrophes, so the plural for "modmod" would be "modmods", not "modmod's" -- that is the possessive.

Anyway, I am reeeally looking forward to both RoM 2.8 and the next edition of Afforess' Addons -- both about equally! :D

Okay, thanks for catching that. I'm terrible at grammar, despite English being my native language.

Nice and professional looking :D!

I foresee you becoming a separate modder in your own right sometime in future :).

But I fervently hope that Zappara will consider adding you as a "staff member" of his modding team since he doesn't have time for C++ learning. That way the mod, Rise of Mankind, will rise to its rightful glory!

Thanks. My last page was just too clutter, IMO.

I don't know. I've given thought to this, but I really like RoM, so it would just be a fork in RoM's development. I don't think it would end up well. I would end up just stealing part of RoM's userbase, and not really gaining users from anywhere else. I don't like the thought of that.

That would be nice, but it's Zap's decision, not mine.

Thank goodness you like Rom so much. You have taken a great load of my mind.;)
Your new page is looking good.

Nice update to the OP but one little quibble: Do you need to put one line answers in spoiler tags? It ends up taking up more room and having to click to open what really isn't a spoiler or massive amount of information isn't very efficient.

It isn't the spoiler tag's so much as their needs to be an easy to differentiate between answers and questions. The spoiler tag grey's out the background, making it very obvious. I tried it without spoilers. Trust me, it didn't look nearly as good.

Hi Afforess :)

Posting here too so I'll be sure you saw this... Did you resolve your problem with Shqype's VicinityBonus modcomp?

I'm still re-working the OP. Comments and constructive criticism would be appreciated. I think I may be overusing the "spoiler" tag a bit, but oh well.

What about putting Question and Answer together with a hyphen beside answer and the dot beside the question? For example:

  • What is your modmodpack about?
-It is to enrich already awesome mod by Zappara :D!
  • How do I install your intriguing modmods?
-Just download and install the .exe installer! Simple as that, as Vincentz likes to say :D!

The above is just an example...

Eh, that would turn it unto an unfriendly wall of text.

Perhaps this is better:

What is your modmodpack about?
It is to enrich an already awesome mod by Zappara

But, I'm still not sure. I make go look at some other mod's pages and steal their formatting. I know LoR has a friendly page...
